reinierladan··on Making Figma better for developers with Dev Mode
Did it work for you?
reinierladan··on Making Figma better for developers with Dev Mode
I use this hack to turn mouse movements into scroll movements with Hammerspoon. It's one of the first things I need on a fresh install of MacOS.

https://github.com/reinier/dotfiles/blob/main/hammerspoon/er...

It let's you hold down the right click key and use your mouse to scroll any x/y direction.

Original source for this hack is offline, but Internet Archive to the rescue: https://web.archive.org/web/20200808000102/https://savouryti...

BTW I use Figma all the time, I have never any issues scrolling with this hack.

reinierladan··on Mailbrew has a new home (and is now free)
I got the same mail, but how do we know this Ev is Evan Williams?
reinierladan··on We're Building a Calendar for Work
I'm really looking forward to this app. Looks like a nice combination of a calendar with a todo-list.
reinierladan··on Secret iPad
The original article is gone.

reinierladan··on Syfy has canceled the Expanse, but its producers want to find it a new home
I can’t believe The Expanse is more expensive per episode than Westworld for example. It all feels so cheaply produced. The books are awesome btw.
reinierladan··on Where’s all my CPU and memory gone? The answer: Slack
I don't know about other platforms but on MacOS native apps are way better designed (looks and usability) than the electron crap that is available. So I'm curious, what makes you say JS devs are better at designing apps than native devs who know how native apps work?
reinierladan··on Blendle: Pay-per-article journalism platform that refunds you for clickbait
Amazing service. I've used it many times to read articles from newspapers I'm not subscribed to. Also got my money back a couple of times. It just works.
reinierladan··on Blendle – iTunes for journalism launches in the Netherlands
I'm in the beta program for a while now. I love being able to read articles from different news papers without having to buy them all. Articles usually cost about 15 to 25 cents and you can ask your money back when the article is not what you expect it to be. This is pretty useful because the moment you click on an article you pay for it. I haven't found this to be a problem for now but I guess people will sometimes click without noticing. Money is being refunded without questions asked.

The service works great on an iPad and the crew behind Blendle is really responsive to questions. Great work.

reinierladan··on Ask HN: You're running a shared photoalbum startup, how will you battle Facebook
First, I would focus on privacy. Second, on specific photo tools that Facebook isn't going to offer. Make sure that people can easily sign up during a party or an event at which a group of people is taking pictures and want to share them (afterwards). Make 'joining' an album free and let the 'album owner' pay.
reinierladan··on Xkcd's world - pieced together with AngularJS (warning: big images)
Dropbox says "This account's public links are generating too much traffic and have been temporarily disabled!" so I put a backup on Cloud app: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4543626

reinierladan··on Xkcd's world - pieced together with AngularJS (warning: big images)
Nice one. If it wasn't for myself I wouldn't have found the second x-wing. This thing is too big and too epic.
reinierladan··on Xkcd: Click and Drag
I created a full high res PDF of the image (only 11MB), with readable text balloons. — http://s.rlink.co/JZ6G
