Probably the editor will have domain-specific add-ons and libraries developed and supported by the company. They can also provide workshops and certifications if the language gets more popular.

At the moment yes, but some phones let you disable Google apps through settings and I had this setup before. Another option is getting root access and uninstalling Google apps this way.

You can buy a regular phone that has an active community on XDA forums and flash a ROM without installing google services afterwards.

If you can't do that, some phones just let you disable google services. On others you can try getting root access and then disabling them.

As an alternative (or addition for closed-source apps) to F-Droid I can recommend APKUpdater. It is highly configurable, has multiple apk sources, has search and can install apps from Google Play Store.

I am using Android without Google Play Services. Some apps don't give me notifications, but most of them work without an issue. Also, I'm using Firefox with uBlock on this phone. Couldn't be happier with that setup and my phone's battery life.

This all mozilla's bragging about speed is premature. They should've published this article after firefox 57 reaches stable.

2. Xiaomi Mi A1. Thanks to Android One project the phone should deliver both great stock system experience and fast updates. Unfortunately not available in every country.

3. Moto G5 plus. Stock Android and prettty good updates. But not as good as Nokia's.

4. Buy a cheap Xiaomi and install Lineage / other OS. The model I suggest is Redmi Note 4. I personally have a Redmi 4 Prime because it's smaller, but Note 4 has better ROM support.

They could make money on qt creator. It is a very good c++ IDE and people use it not only for creating Qt apps. Make a basic version free but allow installing extensions and other advanced features after paying for the license.
