it's really sad how young online political activists have adopted privacy issues instead of adopting issues like workers rights, vacation time, pay, a strong welfare state, universal healthcare etc...
I would call this test an analogue of IQ testing. Again, we see how mainstream thought places IQ on a pedestal. Mainstream thinking overvalues and overrates mental gymnastics, such as performance on IQ testing. But learned experience is in my opinion far more valuable and should be valued more by mainstream thought. At age 60, it is true that I cannot perform as well on IQ tests. But in my opinion my understanding of the world is much greater. I was like a child at age 25, even though I tested well on IQ tests. But I was just a child. Does mainstream scholarship explore this facet of human development? Not much....
opera is not a mess--it is the best of the browsers...i use it as default browser on my desktop...opera is easily better than chrome or firefox...has far far fewer issues and slowdowns and freezes and crashes...opera is a great browser...
I agree...joseph atwill's book CAESAR'S MESSIAH claims that the new testament bible is propaganda from the flavian dynasty aimed at jews in order to pacify them.
Poe was also a pioneer in the use of sound effects used to induce feelings in the reader....
Poe also apparently believed that some sort of rhythmic, cyclical sound was involved in the afterlife...that sound occurred several times in circumstances that were linked in his works to the afterlife.
(from my senior thesis)
maybe there was a form of homo erectus already in america, using stone tools etc, having arrived 130k yrs or more ago, and then the indians wiped them out when they arrived much later--that would explain indian tales of having wiped out primitive cannibal tribes (a movie called bone tomahawk was inspired by these tales)...of course the political considerations would tend to suppress this idea.
hmm...I wonder if all these new satellites could possibly be part of some new cheap, high-speed internet system? That would be great for consumers, I guess, but bad for the profits of comcast, et al. I would also be against this pollution of our pristine natural wonderland of outer space, especially if it cut into corporate profits.
drunk drivers need not be involved in order for urban cycling to be dangerous...it is just dangerous, period. It's chaos....and gravity and physics mean that sooner or later the cyclist will have an accident.
well, of course the media is going to depict these people negatively--the media lives off of corporate profits which are spent in part on media advertising...these stay-at-home people are just living a lovely life...but they are not working and are not consuming...and thus not helping to increase corporate profits much and thus not feeding the media...work work work...consume consume consume....rinse and repeat...
humans are social animals...they need other humans around them that are in the same tribe...it's the global vs nationalism debate (that the media avoids) recapitulated...
they also deleted my tweet from this morning, which simply made fun of united airlines ("we seat you, then we beat you! Board as a doctor, leave as a patient! #NewUnitedAirlinesMottos")
