I'm familiar with some issues related to bot behaviours (1) on Google Ads, and as far as I know, Google doesn't try very hard to filter or detect such bots — on some verticals they might be half of the traffic, and Google still earns from it.
But I found a potential solution in Google itself, since they provide a tool to select your demographics. If you select all available options and skip Unknown, it won't show the ads to some part of the bots. There will still be some percentage, but this cuts out the largest part, since most click bots have no Google history and therefore fall outside the demographic buckets.
Finally, the `id` and `unique` string parameters look like something specifically designed to track people.

You work in the extreme opposite setup to mine. VC vs bootstrapped. LLMs vs hand-coded. High margins vs open-source. If you ever look at our codebase, you will see that there are very few code dependencies, and of course bringing in another as large as LLMs is not in scope.
If you wish, we can always continue our exchange by email (mine is in hn profile).
Well, I'm speechless.
> We're in the European economic area and are completely NIS2 compliant and we use LLM's to aid in our software development for high risk systems.
Please pick one. Either way this is a nightmare level of threat to sovereignty.
The insecurity in a vibe-coded web portal isn't that someone hacks it with XSS, it's that after the next vibe-coded release, some X quietly becomes −Y somewhere no one expects.
From this perspective, having no software at all might be better, or as in your case, safer.
Actually, I think the author put DeepSeek on purpose to avoid the obvious ChatGPT/Claude comparison — because whatever he chose, there would be a question of why model A and not B, while the point of the article isn't about models comparison at all.

Now, when I talk to programmers in their 20s and 30s and ask which program they first fell in love with, there's usually no answer.
I'm glad they've stopped pretending otherwise.
We use FastMail for a business that is sensitive to email delivery time — in other words, if for some reason we receive emails with a delay, this could be a problem. Over the past 5 years or so, we've had only one incident when emails weren't delivered on time.

This is just impossible to read.
Old interfaces were far more practical for getting work done, and therefore obviously boring.
For me, as someone who is supposed to use technology as a tool and not as a source of amusement, the new interfaces of the major OSes feel unacceptable. But the other billion people chatting and scrolling are the real consumers, not me — and as a result, we now have the interfaces we have.
It doesn't work properly in my Netscape Navigator.
