I use sillytavern web interface to create assistants and confidante personas with locally installed ollama.
but it’ll work with openrouter and all the major apis.
iirc it just came with a couple of prompts for assistants , and I found one on Reddit that i tweaked. I can’t find the exact thread I wanted but here’s the first result I found discussing the same thing [0] pros and cons.
I’m mobile and don’t have remote access to exactly what prompts and personas I made for myself on that desktop. it’s just a 2060ti with I think 12gb. You don’t even need the video card if you’re plugging in a 3rd party API.

Then I do something totally different for (disclosed!) IRC and forum bots, but this is my go to for something I’m locally interacting with.

Because when I had set it up, grapheneOS itself couldn’t install or set one up unless it was previously installed under the old OS.
So I had to set up my carrier and then install grapheneOS.
It can install eSIMs on its own now so this doesn’t matter other than confirming the eSIM carries over.
I’ve never reverted to stock android and I’m never looking back so idk if the eSIM survives the round trip.
Apple doesn’t care what I think about their battery draining bloated garbage software anymore so I’m quietly quitting and don’t care about them either.
I just finally gave away my MacBook to someone who needed it more than I do .. I loathe Tahoe… as much as I do ios26… but haven’t cut the cord with the iPhone YET.
GrapheneOS seems to be the only contender that will get me to go along with that,(I’m running it on a pixel7 and warming up to it but still go back to iPhone to do some things I have no patience for figuring out on the pixel.)
Motorola may seal the deal. If they offer a cool device. I had a Nexus 6 (I think) that Motorola made and it was cool, it was just already obsolete when I got my hands on it. I could root it and do whatever I wanted on it, and half the reason I got into iPhone was that I could readily jailbreak those once upon a time. And can’t now.
So I have this fisher price piece of shit Apple device I can’t do anything fun on and the battery’s dead after 2-3 hours of use when … I paid extra for so called “pro max” devices for the extra battery capacity alone… the whole reason I even went down that road was getting lost in New York City with a dead battery a few too many time, this thing used to go 12-15 hours under ios18…
Motorola had made several of my favorite phones ever before an iPhone existed. We’ll see. I don’t think anyone even enjoys or wants an iPhone anymore. We are all just fucking , and getting fucked by, Apple until someone better comes along.
What else disgusts me about Apple is all the subtle ways they want you even more addicted to or dependent on your device. iCloud bullshit. In device subscriptions. Oh use our password manager and have a unique fucking 30 char password for every single site . Would you like a proprietary “passkey” so you’re forced to reach for your god damned iPhone another 15 times a day! 2fa? Authy won’t run on gOS. Just all this endless shit I’m going to have to divorce and migrate off of as well to get rid of them. And i will because i hate this company now. Please put them out of society’s misery for us.
The whole thing was atrocious but at least introduced me to the concept.
In fact, I had to spend like three days downloading Netscape to try it out because I didn’t even have a graphical browser yet.
Who and what in your life is 16 hours of Instagram taking you away from?
Instagram is garbage by the way for any Meta people in this thread. I’m tired of not seeing anyone I follow because you’re putting ads and viral videos I don’t give a fuck about in front of me instead. No wonder it wastes 16 hours, scrolling through shit trying to find something from someone or something you follow.
Your app is literally useless for communicating or keeping up with anyone I follow.
Facebook died when it lost interest in being Facebook and wanted to become TikTok.
Instagram died when it lost interest in being Instagram and wanted to become TikTok.
Your products and company should be banned, and everyone on your board belongs in jail.
> but instead, "you know the views" that amount to harassment
Is sneering “believe all women” at people you disagree with one of these forms of “harassment” ? Or just discussions about biology?
Not sure what you’re suggesting here. That is okay. Honestly, I don’t care about anything you have to say.
… is not being able to paste into an empty box unless I type a letter there and select it/clobber it/overwrite it
And I just LOOOOOVE not being able to tap a URL in safari and get to the end of it to add parameters or change a path anymore…
Just gave my MacBook that hasn’t been turned on in months away(i haaaaate Tahoe) and been using GrapheneOS on a pixel 7a.
so far I’m not in love with it but I’m getting used to it and starting to like downloading apps anonymously (if I name the app, I’ll probably get scolded) anyway this might be the end of the line for me and Apple.
Im sure it has nothing to do with Allison Fauci being a Twitter systems engineer at the time.
Selective enforcement doesn’t mean it didn’t happen just because you’re still online.
I know! i’d sure hate for Google and the police to be able to identify someone who has kidnapped and/or perhaps murdered me. I’ll be uninstalling all my cameras immediately. Whose with me? /s
(Notwithstanding: My cameras thermostats etc all go through a wrt3200 router logged into expressvpn on a dedicated ssid/vlan . Amazon and Google pissed me off purchasing Ring and Nest (respectively) so they can plug that into their advertising bullshit and that was my reaction to both of those companies… they get iot devices connecting from some vultr VPS or whatever, and the other way they get you is with all the crap and trackers in their smartphone apps — at least according to Exodus Project - so THATS on a burner android piped through the same SSID too.)
Granted some of that’s by necessity because half the apps for this kind of crap aren’t available in the Mexico iTunes Store but I’ll just shut up now.
They way they are trying to do with LoRa networks.
Just something plug in and play with a higher tx/rx power , external antenna support, doing its thing 24/7 without client impact.
And at that rate I’d just as soon go back to UUCP style/BBS “email” between nodes too where it’s best availability or you get a few daily downloads. Reticulum is the closest one to having the foundation for any of that.
I can find some chatter roaming around on foot with b_tchat but it’s useless in my neighborhood and on my property
It has potential but I think it needs something to make it scale to a small town or at least a city neighborhood with adhoc or rogue repeaters.
I have a few meshtastic nodes stuck up on roofs but they’re not very useful either. All of these projects seem to have “the right idea” and come from the right place but so far imo every single one falls short in either adoption or implementation which is why we don’t have a decentralized p2p discord killer — even just a local one - YET
And local is fine with me I’m so tired of social media and apps being poisoned by bots and extranjeros with agendas and endless spam anyway.
I made friends and was entertained and informed with old BBSes that were only dialed into by a couple of nerds and cranks in a town of 50000 . The system even dialed out to send and receive our email to other sites once or twice a day (UUCP) theres absolutely no reason something like this can’t thrive or be useful if a new generation of people can learn to use and live with something we already had
I love the idea of something that crosses the line between atproto and UUCP as well, maybe no bandwidth for images and videos in this scenario. Ive ridden the firehose a few times and just the text alone would overwhelm a p2p system as we know it, or have a consistent band of public unlicensed spectrum for today
Though nothing could stop people from going back to using uuencode and uudecode to use it for that anyway heh
… crap … less …?
They had statistically no change in loose or hard (3/4 vs 4/4) stools , the only change in healthy stools that there were 16 fewer of them between the two samples.
then two liquids in sample 2, working out to 9.5% . because it’s 2 out of 21.
If it had been 2 out of the prior sample (36) this would have only been 5.5%
(loose jumps from 11.9 to 19% but remains “4” total in both sets.)
Nobody asked or wanted to know but I had a dramatic improvement in intestinal motility on Glp-1, being a little starved for oxygenated blood down there - I’m on it for cardiac issues rather than weight loss.
Interesting enough it also revived a small part of a massive infarct they wrote off as non-viable years ago. Spent Xmas in the hospital with it kind of doing its own thing independently of the rest , they were about to hit me with the party paddles and I suddenly went sinus rhythm on my own lol
Let’s leave it at… everything down there … abruptly got normal again and has stayed that way for (so far) a little over a month since that happened…
Extremely. Weird. Drug class. I guess some people even go blind on it. I don’t think I would have touched it if I wasn’t backed into a corner to try a bunch of drugs and hope for the best or get a transplant.
Antivirus, ffmpeg to watermark a doc … or indeed a third party API..
it’s most commonly used to do antivirus on a transparent proxy and block infected file downloads but you can run any command you want.
Including watermarking everything with a company logo , “confidential “ , or a unique ID of the requestor.
or making subtle alterations to md5sums , metadata etc in confidential documents or for each requestor to track down leaks and sharing.
Nakivo does something kind of like that with product downloads (executables) to manipulate them and require a specific file name to install that goes back to the info you furnished for a demo.
All sorts of use cases for these alterations, I wouldn’t necessarily abandon an idea that’s interesting or challenging to you and id encourage you to spend a little more time on whether youve considered them all and whether they’re marketable
Then if it’s not interesting as a standalone product it might be something you can bake into a paid CMS plugin (Wordpress, Xenforo, etc) for people who are savvy enough to deploy those kinds of products but maybe not go this far with it.
My bread and butter , I guess.. isn’t something mass marketable , but it’s something i enjoy, am wired for, and never really get burned out or bored of.
then also it’s an invitation for debate or discussion, which he seems open to and approachable about… as scoldy and confrontational as that may be from what I’ve gathered …
the gist of that is “this sucks we want single payer”
and what I’ve surmised so far is, that’s great but until we’re there I’m taking on PBMs
im okay with either or both of those objectives , neither of which are advancing.
Not really on topic for “trumprx,” forgive me. I’m trying to avoid contempt before investigation.
Contempt after reading the fine print is fine.
Usually meaning the revenues and results are there .. although everything about their personal or professional ethos disgusts me.
Eh. From time to time you’ll have that one brilliant but grossly tangential asset on a team who leaves you wondering if they’re manic or cracked out from the weekend.
Who’s in infrastructure and hasn’t sent a few sleep-deprived and cringey status updates out at 6am :D
Okay okay okay fine, it’s an internet comment section I don’t have to be PC. I think this one’s coke.
Thank you, yes, I could have said that better. But yeah as a new human driver if I’m too sloppy and get into too many incidents , the penalty is harsh and I’d say that “none of the autonomous companies are held to the same standard” but that’s not 100% true: we do have cities and states refusing to play ball or issue permits here.
But that’s exactly right. my opinion was/is that there should be a probationary period for the first year of new autonomous technology — or major deviations from existing and proven technologies — too. And if it causes too many accidents or violations, then, it should be held to the same standard I am
Open source is notorious for being implemented in $$$ COTS and commerce and then contributing $0 in money and then even less in contribs bug fixes or sharing in house tweaks, isn’t this what Wordpress has been melting down over for a year or two now?
And I’m sure many more projects are pissed off or resenting their chains but not making an ugly scene about it.
Something has to give here.
I don’t have a dog in this fight other than to say that what mattermost went with here “is a choice” , and I have “a choice” whether to accept these terms.
I’m interested in watching how it plays out though. They cast their die. Problems have solutions. We could all get into whether this solution is viable or not — doesn’t matter this is what they went with and they made it clear they’re not taking user input on it. I’m not even a user so I expect them to care even less about my thoughts.
Im supportive of anyone trying to find an equitable balance but maybe that’s a situation where they could roll their own license with these clauses and exclusions.
Its not like Microsoft or iTunes user agreements aren’t complete bullshit, yet people click okay and use all that.
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2025 Blind Item #7 The celebrity CEO says his new chat system is so secure that even he can't read the messages. He is lying. He reads them all the time.
File missing:
if [ ! -f /tmp/file ]; then exit 1 fi
File doesn’t contain 100 lines:
COUNT=`cat /tmp/file |wc -l` if [ $COUNT -lt "100"]; then exit 1 fi
File doesn’t contain a known header or record :
HEADER=`egrep -c SOME_CSV_VALUE /tmp/file` if [ $HEADER -eq "0"]; then exit 1 fi
any of those could be things like MySQL cli query or a wget call to a webserver.
generally, I have one long script that validates a combination of these and as it runs through the script I echo the HTML, meta refresh tag. My table, my table row, then each “if” case appends a <TD> </TD></TR>with “else” statements adding a red or a green cell into an HTML file as it goes down the list.
That way if I have say, 50-100 critical things that run every morning I have a visual dashboard when one screws up.
As far as I know this is still in use 14 years after deployed. It’s in all the stuff that starts an options exchange every day.
And then I left behind another one at a telco that checks all their radius servers and radius partners and pops a cell red when one isn’t responding to auth requests and I “think” they are using some form of it. Other than now solar winds hooks into those exit codes and they don’t really care about the html page.
