I think anyone that used open models will have had contact with Qwen. China currently does the most work here, simple as that.
No, European countries suck completely on their own. There are people in jail without due process, we have histories full of systematic abuse of children/people with disabilities in care units, blatant disregard for constitutional rights by executive forces and you have these cases like this surfacing every other week.
You don't need the evil USA to reject biometric data gathering by government. You just need to get your largest boot and point it at the arse of the next public official that is responsible for YOU. Not some imaginary enemy behind a bit of water ffs... rant off
The mistake isn't some agreement with the USA, the problem is that this data might be available in the first place. And yes, this is a case where government/EU is NOT able to safeguard it.
Other than that the text is correct and then we should just need to deal with the realities of needing visas again.
> EDRi recommends the Commission and the Council to push back against the US government’s blackmail and refuse to sell people’s personal data
There is no leverage so I fail to see how this could succeed. Especially if said officials have zero problems with this kind of surveillance. They just have to pretend that they do.
Of course it would be really interesting how Claude approached this. Probably with some constraints regarding the input. And it would be interesting what these constraints were.
Seriously, the nudge for artistic value can be made, although I would very much doubt a creative human making a video for an established song with a clear theme would do better in creativity. Perhaps the one advantage a human would have is to reject the expectations for such a tasks, which the AI is trained to fulfil.
The problem isn't that such content lacks artistic value. It is that it is enough for the broadest audience. The average consumer is basically a vacuum cleaner.
Their licensing issues aren't the problem of the buyer.
I don't mean giving agents root shell access, but agents still reduce the formerly higher barrier of Linux based systems.
Experienced admins can integrate a Linux machine in short time, even if its environment is the classic corpo Microsoft Domain Contoller setups. And then make that scale much better than Windows machines.
Agreed. Especially since now competitors have more difficulties getting the same advantage. They don't have to do so immediately and perhaps not their specific tuning. But the weights of the raw training data at least should be publicised.
Sometimes they pretend otherwise, but only if the above rule applies. Not a dependent partner if you want to preserve freedoms for transparency and against surveillance.
As a dev you are often confronted with confidential data, so you should deal with it in a different way.
What is surprising is that almost anyone can hear a latency with stereo sound if you move a box about 2-3m further away than the other. Surprising that humans are still that bad with perceiving audio positions.
Although this also hits people < 30 years as well and maybe older ones as well.
Although I would also think that a early contact might even build up some resistance here.
Neither Sony nor Microsoft had a consumer orientation and they will likely loose against the competition.
Physical media was a method to have a "plug & play" game, although that changed in recent times. With that I don't think classic consoles can compete, especially with their new price points.
To be honest, I would recommend doing that from time to time even on linux boxes. Not because the system becomes unstable, just to check if all your services come up as expected. For the case that you really do need to do a reboot at some point.
You want a partner that makes better decisions.
It is free advertising for now, but in my circle people are looking for alternatives and are surprised how viable they have become.
Although I could imagine never having invested in software development if an agent could just have solved my problems. Same with learning an instrument. Very slow progress to what an AI can do today. And for most pop songs you cannot even claim that it copied more than the other generic pop songs.
Yes, if you cannot trim the code, there is a complexity barrier you won't march through.
So having a model of 4.6 quality is still extremely awesome. That currently is more of less the frontier reference outside the US :(
You are right about the public square. That is pretty much what governments want to enforce. To silence everyone not in line, like in medieval towns.
