Apple HomePods are pretty half-baked with how shitty Siri, they have a very niche set of things they do but even that's not reliable because Siri likes to misinterpret
I'm with you on that, I got mine back in 2013(?) on sale for $30 CAD. still works, but battery is a bit weak. They were also neat cause you could telnet into the modified debian os to add you own homebrew apps
I've been pretty impressed with their Pocket Casts acquisition from NPR to date, they open sourced the apps which was a great bit of community service.
I'm kind of impressed it was able to do basic math even if the reasoning isn't correct. That seems like an impressive emergent behavior for a small cheap model like this.
Popular influencers getting sponsored by the auto industry to perpetuate their sales with the younger generation even as we enter into climate crisis and should be focused on walkable communities, public transit and less consumption overall.
Yup, They'll always have usefulness, but especially in North America we desperately need to deemphasize them immensely. They require far too much precious land usage, are undesirable for people positive spaces and highly inefficient to borderline devastating for local economies.
I have and I love it it's a very disturbingly weird movie. I'm still trying to fit it in my brain with how Alex Garland makes every movie about a technology and I'm trying to think if that's what he was going for there as well in an abstract way.
Soundtrack for that show is an incredible mix of contemporary artists and unique tracks, something to artists I hadn't heard of before. Also, Alex Garland is an amazing director people should check out his other work.
That's a pretty weak article from Google, No real substance, Don't really explain or even hint at how they achieved such a long context window. It's just kind of a self-congratulatory pat on the back of an article :/
Latent demand is still a poor argument to widening. Those people either wouldn't have traveled as much or taken alternative transportation. Dumping money into the least efficient, effective and most expensive form of infrastructure is not a good model going forward. Highways bring a fraction of economic benefit compared to trains, bus lanes and pedestrianized communities.
I don't know if 99m would be possible due to the focal point tied to the diameter of the lense (in this case roughly earth sized with the EHT)
Please correct me if that's incorrect though
I Would love to see self hosted option either with local LLMs or self API keys. Privacy and longevity of the project would be the main points for such an initiative. Cool project either way!
This is what people need to understand. We don't need big flashy projects and skyscrapers. We need more missing middle multiplexes and townhouses. A lot of which could sprout up naturally if government wasn't restrictive in zoning and what folks can do with their own property (front yard businesses too)
