rammy1234··on Architecture diagrams enable better conversations
I use MermaidJS for flow chart and Sequence diagram. They have C4 in beta. I tried and it is hard adjust the layout and many features are not supported for C4 yet.

Visual Studio has good support for MermaidJS. https://mermaid.js.org/intro/

rammy1234··on Maps twist our perception of the world – here are 20 to rethink it
This is awesome
rammy1234··on Ask HN: Recently with ChatGPT I see HN is filled with AI/ML post
It is clearly exciting but this is so hyped that people I talk to want to use it for everything.
rammy1234··on Ask HN: Recently with ChatGPT I see HN is filled with AI/ML post
this is exactly the point. Is this a natural progression ? or being promoted ?
rammy1234··on Ask HN: Recently with ChatGPT I see HN is filled with AI/ML post
This is more like way too much about ChatGPT than any other era I have seen before in HN. Lot of cool stuff in every area imaginable.
rammy1234··on Finding Fulfillment
Yes agreed. Joy needs to be pursued, but I believe trying to find joy at work is futile for most and few are lucky. Starting your company with intent of seeking joy might work. But how many start a company though !! I am not against this concept of Ikigai, but I am trying to understand how I can apply on my current situation ( being practical )
rammy1234··on Finding Fulfillment
Article resonates on concepts of Ikigai. But when corporates are driven by profit, not sure how it produces joy. Finding joy is by accident or being in right place at right time. Majority of us are operating in "Command-Execute" model.

rammy1234··on Ask HN: Do anyone get anxiety from following Hacker News?
I felt this cleared up my mind. I know I am obsessing about something small. For me who used to be on top of things in my 20s is now drifting off. I realize life happens but sometimes I can’t help stop my anxieties. I wanted to thank all you took time to answer. Appreciate all answers
rammy1234··on Ask HN: I lack Motivation. What should I do?
I am ordering this book. Thanks.
rammy1234··on Ask HN: I lack Motivation. What should I do?
Now you say this, not sure. I get around 6 hrs max.
rammy1234··on Ask HN: I lack Motivation. What should I do?
Interesting, This is great thought. I am uninstalling social apps. Twitter, FB, Insta to start with. I want to see where else I am going to spend time on. Will report back here to this thread to let how it helped. Thanks !!
rammy1234··on Ask HN: I lack Motivation. What should I do?
This is so true for me as well. Accidentally I have been thinking the same. Is it software or things I work on, I don't have a compounding effect on my knowledge. I dont build on the previous learnings. Is that a reason for my demotivation ? Is this common or we are exceptions ? How do we all deal with it ?
rammy1234··on Ask HN: I lack Motivation. What should I do?
My 2nd newborn is 7 months old. Is it contributing.?
rammy1234··on Ask HN: I lack Motivation. What should I do?
Thanks. I keep starring at my laptop to try a quick idea but unable to focus. I should try a break
rammy1234··on Why we're leaving the cloud
Fear of missing out on the trend FOMO
rammy1234··on Decision Fatigue
I loved yours better.
rammy1234··on Decision Fatigue
I wrote on this topic as well - https://lazydevstories.com/post/decisionfatigue/
rammy1234··on GraphQL Kotlin Apollo Server
That is interesting. So router is recommended ?
rammy1234··on Ask HN: Are we all burned out?
Accidentally I wrote this on taking breaks - https://lazydevstories.com/post/break/

I would say we all would burn out constantly and taking breaks is only way out

rammy1234··on Effect of Colonoscopy Screening on Risks of Colorectal Cancer and Related Death
Title and end conclusion of the article are contradicting. Last paragraph says, "If you cannot take 2 days off, then you have other options. If you want to take test once in 10 years, Colonoscopy is the king". This means Colonoscopy is still the king if you can take 2 days off from your work ( which I believe most workers should be able to as this is important for one's life ). Not sure how this is beneficial for the readers of this article.
rammy1234··on I need structure in my life
Probably want to add this on why you need a structure in life. If not if gives anxiety and chaos. I wrote my thoughts here - https://lazydevstories.com/post/overwhelmed/
rammy1234··on Is Java Dying?
My personal opinion and not a fact - "I see still see Java as the one which great mature ecosystem. For most pieces of work java still works. Enterprises do invest in them for next 10 years. It is not going away. Golang is increasing in adoption but that doesn't undermine Java in anyway today, may be in next 5-6 years"

More than language it is the basics that counts

rammy1234··on Why long-term plans don't work and how to fix them
I was expecting to see splitting the long term plans into multiple shorter wins. This ensures we celebrate wins and have a leading and lagging indicators. Constantly measure and iterate. If anything, pivot. Is that not how long term plans work.

In reality none of the long term plans have worked apart from long term habits and principles. Plans are there to fail.

"War will not go according to the plan but no war was won without a plan " :)

rammy1234··on Goodbye, Feedly
Absolutely 100%, myself and my friend were discussing the same about products. An upgrade should be about getting the same benefits but more. 10X speed upgrade does make product look bad. Instead reducing number of feeds you can have or grouping etc but a bad product is not a free tier. It is nuisance to deal with in our busy lives.
rammy1234··on Goodbye, Feedly
It does makes sense to me. RSS feeds were supposed to get you to the articles quick enough. With all these pop ups and ads and whatever, we lose the essence of RSS.
rammy1234··on SQLite or PostgreSQL? It's Complicated
If you say using SQLite, there is always risk of losing that data file in disk right. How is that managed. is this a dumb question , which PostgreSQL do not ??
rammy1234··on Ask HN: Any certification that is worth it? Legitimately helped your career?
I don't have certs in my 17 years career. I always believe good work ( clubbed with learning ) and subsequent recommendations or reference based on that good work helps a career. It is always about learning, never about certification. I personally don't believe in certification, but sometime it is useful to know the syllabus. You go broad and dive deep on some.
