You almost answered your own question. One common solution is to have 2 nodes with haproxy (or similar) sharing a virtual IP with keepalived that load balance de traffic to the control plane nodes and to the nodes where your ingress controller runs.

There are other options, like running the haproxy in the control plane nodes.

ralgozino··on Slack’s biggest redesign ever tries to tame the chaos of your workday
You're welcome! Notice that you can go also forward in the history with CMD+] and If you happen to have back and forward buttons on your mouse (like an MX master) they also work ;-)
ralgozino··on Slack’s biggest redesign ever tries to tame the chaos of your workday
In those cases I go back in the history of chats that I visited with either CMD+[ or the dedicated "clock" button

ralgozino··on Lima: A nice way to run Linux VMs on Mac
I second multipass, it is pretty cool if your target is Ubuntu. I think it is closer to "Docker for Ubuntu VMs" than Vagrant though.

In the latest releases hey are dropping support for native virtualization on mac and moving to QEMU only. I my experience the QEMU backend has not been as stable as the hyperkit one, but YMMV as usual.

ralgozino··on Ask HN: Is GitHub down?
I must ask, how did you notice that?!

ralgozino··on Apple announces multibillion deal with Broadcom to make components in the USA
I'm surprised nobody mentioned that Broadcom is also in process of buying VMware, the topic has been largely discussed here
ralgozino··on Packet, where are you? – eBPF-based Linux kernel networking debugger
that is pretty cool and a major QoL improvement indeed!
ralgozino··on Packet, where are you? – eBPF-based Linux kernel networking debugger
thank you! TIL.

I guess you need a completely different mindset to approach this.

ralgozino··on Packet, where are you? – eBPF-based Linux kernel networking debugger
Asking as someone with almost no experience with eBPF.

How do you read the otuput of the tool? In the README's example GIF, If I didn't know there's an IPTables rule dropping the packages I would not know that the package is being dropped.

ralgozino··on Italy rated one of the hardest countries for foreigners to settle in
> One last thing that goes beyond comprehension. If you come from Argentina (like I do) and you have a valid driver's licence you can get the Italian one by some paperwork only before you get residency but not AFTER. If you want the licence after getting residency, you need to go through this hell.

Hola Lucas, unless something changed recently (or maybe motorizzazione of your city has different rules - I don't think so) this part is not correct. You can convert your license after having your residency, I'd be surprised of the opposite to be honest.

I know because I did it 2 years ago. The only requisite is that your argentinian license has not expired.

Feel free to reach out if you need.

Absolutely this, I learned a lot from doing maintenance with my dad to our house, cars, etc. The first thing I bought when I moved out was a tool box.

If that was an unintended pun, I LOLed really hard xD

ralgozino··on Ask HN: What's on your home server?
Hi Andrè! I just wanted to thank you for mailcow! We used it a few years ago at my previous job to getting a new domain up & running and got a porfessional, best-practices-configured email server in no time. Great experience also for day 2 operations! Nothing like the other mail solutions available at that time.

Wishing you the best in your next endeavors!

ralgozino··on From WampServer to Vagrant to QEMU
Maybe canonical's multipass is a good option. It creates Ubuntu VMs very quickly using hyperkit, has as they were containers with docker. It has some limitations but works pretty well overall.

ralgozino··on Ask HN: Strategies to land remote US job while living in living in EU?
Where's €60000 pretty low? In Italy at least €60000 a year before taxes is kind of a very high salary and hard to get. The average salary for a DevOps Engineer according to Glassdoor is 35000 a year.
ralgozino··on Should you trust your gut?
If I may, I'd recommend first try to understand why you can't take a decision, is being afraid of making a mistake for example or is there something else? Then, you can start practicing with mundane decisions like picking a different flavor of ice cream instead of your usual one, try to identify decision like that example that have no consequences and don't overthink it, just decide. The only way to change this is to retrain yourself to break the association.

If you can, do some therapy, it will help.

Good luck!
