I can't wait until the price point falls down for products like these. At a price point like $10-$20, I would be buying a six pack.
It's been a while but if I remember correctly, there was a slider on the top right with a play button. It allowed me to scroll through the history of the doc akin to Time Machine. That visual playful approach is much more engaging than a drop down list of versions. Titles and dates really tell you nothing about the nature of the document.
Watching an essay evolve with a click of a button was awesome and uniquely informative. A killer feature that should not be sacrificed. It was certainly a feature that could help Google Docs position itself above native applications.
What would you add? What did I miss?
I didn't really think through submitting this to HN. I certainly haven't had the luxury of studying Pixar's process in depth. I guess the title gives off the wrong impression.
I quickly made these slides to try to extract some concrete lessons from Ed's article in HBR. As I grapple with creative autonomy in my own startup, these slides were a way for me to start to think about introducing ideas to the co-founders.
I outsource small web dev projects with freelancers in India using this app and dropbox. It's fun to use. The push notifications are great.
I have a siesta + short sleep routine:
My long sleep session is usually crashing soon after I get home. On top of that, I get 2-3 hours either between classes or right before my first class.
I never really learned how to play. It's a significant challenge to get myself off the computer and out relaxing, exploring, and enjoying free time.
I have sometimes wish’d it had been my destiny to have
been born two or three centuries hence.
I wonder if Steve Jobs felt the same way. I would like to believe that the visionary that he was, his peaceful end was comforted by the fact that all that he envisioned was all on the right path. His few dreams that were not already made reality would soon reach millions. Not only that, but millions if not billions of people around the world now understand his vision, not just the beauty and application of his products, but the implications of a future of grand dreams and great taste.I will forever regret never meeting the man. But I was never worth his time.
Now he has all the time in the world to relax with the greats: http://bit.ly/ng7PmU
He gave us platforms. Now it's in our hands.

Steve knew his calling and thus the world took so much of his precious time. Less than 60 years of life: We shall forever make the best of it as he rests in peace.
The clip affected me more than anything thus far. I think I'm ready to move on now, he gave so much but the world demands so much more. For now, I think I'm done up-voting Steve Jobs.
Facebook is trying to be a place for social groups to interact online and also for the individual self to be discovered. I don't think both can be done effectively. There's just too much noise on Facebook as it is. I think this feature, really just a visualization of the feed, will just lead to more stalker type behavior.
