..hopefully they posted from tor and arent about to get a ton of popups now about "do you have foxtail in your ears"
Curious what you see as a possible incentive for this to play out? Personally stopped watching black mirror a few years ago, i dont know how much focusing the public psyche on a fantastical version of the horrors that are playing out helps us imagine or enable a better future. These days it almost feels like a keeper of the gate to STEM. If black mirror freaks you out you probably aren't going to compete in the r&d space.
-The post you replied to did not contain the word racism
-The post was calling into question the exclusion of certain classes of humanoids from the framework of rights agreed on at birth of US
-No commenter said the words "you are racist"
-You failed to offer why the exclusion of black or female people is just
In “Notes on the State of Virginia,” Jefferson wrote, “I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep forever…” He believed that to keep slaves in bondage, with part of America in favor of abolition and part of America in favor of perpetuating slavery, would result in civil war. Jefferson’s prediction was correct: in 1861, the contest over slavery sparked a bloody civil war and the creation of two nations — Union and Confederacy — in the place of one.
Read up on natural law
No one said racism or slavery until you did.
If you want to die on the hill, come up with a rebuttal, like why you think black and female humans should not have voting rights
Strangely enough am family friends with the person likely to become chief. I doubt ill ever raise the issue because i dont think he would be able to have any positive effect without losing the position.
Entrenched.
Then i remembered the geofencing warrants and surveillance platforms they have access to. I remembered nearly going deaf when the police fired a flashbang at my head for getting too close to a group of nazis that myself and other locals wanted to shoo back to the state they came from.
I remembered the police arent here to protect the vulnerable, they are here to protect freedom of speech.
Dont worry i grew out of my juvenile delusion that i have any ability to influence or refuse to tolerate certain discourse in my city.
Nazis rallying in your city is just a sign of how well protected and safe you are i guess. Ill make sure to stay home next time.
And the maya... they had their thousands of books reduced to three. But we know about their culture because of cortez's descriptions right? They were awful bloodthirsty savages right? The three books left from their culture must have perfectly summed it up right?
Reality is built on gaslighting at a point
Yes champ, we read the article
I think this is interesting when /r/antiwork has blown up and gen z is brainwashed against their bosses "opressive" leadership extracting their labor. Orgs running on good will are crumbling, corps with iron fist rules are doing okay - what if the future is in getting gen z to write out what their preferred labor -> compensation function is, and commit it to the cloud instead of scapegoating your evil bougie boss for why you hate your contract?
/s Sarcasm aside, i think GPT "did well" here in terms of picking up an average of what society deems good. This is not something comfortable, but i also dont think it is something inaccurate. Hopefully more of these ai enabled "revelations" (that back what some critical theorists have been saying for decades) will help us unpack and understand the collection of biases we each hold. Yes, the failings are societal, can it be a point of reflection? Or do we keep refiguring the model to obscure the issue?
*edit - file alongside other ideals like "eat salad" and "work out"
>these papers are usually defining it as bots that attempt to subtly manipulate political discourse for ideological or geopolitical agendas.
Sorry but the issue smells recursive
Guess that means no more brain rot. Oh well.
If you dont agree please live as a woman for a year and get back to me ;p
Yeah this is totally at play both in entering STEM as well as women getting autism diagnoses. Regardless of which one we are talking about- if it is more of a "male thing"- women may "conform" to roles as nonprogrammers and nonautistic.
Increasing numbers of women have been getting diagnosed.
Autism may occur in even distributions but doctors have been biased for a long time to view autism as "hyper-male-ness" while girls regardless of functioning are expected to be highly sociable and emotionally aware (traditionally thought of as signs one is not autistic)
Breaking the barrier to STEM is a bit harder than changing preconceptions as you have an industry staffed with "hyper-male" people who have never been pushed to be more sociable or empathetic, and making women who have been taught a lifetime of sociability and empathy compete with them on performance metrics that are largely antisocial.
