and it was an absolutely made up number. The real numbers would be so low it was insignificant. That number was only reported in global outlets, and that strike had zero practical impact in India. It was so uneventful, almost all of India except select pockets that has communist party influence didn't even know about the whole thing - let alone felt the impact of the strike.
Matrix was a direct rip off of ghost in the shell series which did a much better job at capturing the essence of the issue in depth (the writers almost admit to it and there are videos out there that does scene by scene comparison). Ghost in the shell is majorly influenced by Buddhism. While there are obvious overlaps between platonism (that forms the core of gnostism - salvation through knowledge to the real world, and the current world ~= suffering and not real), it wouldn't be correct to attribute gnostism as the influence behind The Matrix.
the western democracy was lost not with trump/farage etc but with the entrenched liberals who decried democracy redefining it as populism and institutional entrenchment as true democracy. This is fallout from it. The populist movements happened because the liberals who once stood for working class people abandoned the poor and working class. Nobody cared then and some even mocked the working class. Now everyone here/reddit/etc cares because suddenly they are affected and its an issue that they identify with and not just the working class. Good times. You won't be able to do anything. They will walk all over you just like when they walked all over the working class.
It is. It's just tip of the iceberg. All they do is foment troubles in other countries while providing high paid employment for nepo babies. It's amazing how Americans downplay direct interference in other countries internal affairs with long lasting negative impacts (like people attacking government healthcare workers during vaccine drive) while claiming russians spending 10k usd on an election cycle in which parties spent billion+ was WW3.
Al though the current US admin is just bringing in USAID within the admin controls, USAID is massive net negative (as it is with any other american influence/aid) for the world.
weren't the sophia/gnosis, emnations and eons were from greek philosophy? also any philosophy/hottakes that stress on duality (what's seen here and what's out there that is causing what's seen here - such as manichean, advaita etc).
they don't necessarily need to figure out the germ theory to know that diseases spread from proximity and/or contact with sick people when it happens right in front of them.
Also, there could be many such reasons for burying/burning someone dead with his/her possessions. My point was that almost always it becomes "elaborate rituals and beliefs of afterlife with same worldly possessions that they had here on earth" - just because we know pharaohs/ancient Egyptians did it.
nothing beats the "religious afterlife" takes. When they find some skeleton with some cooking pottery and archeologists/historians assume it's because the pre h historic culture had buried this person with cookery because he/she would need to cook in the after life - when most likely it's because the person was contaminated, and got buried/left with all his worldly possessions and everything else was burned off.
Is it though? Everyone overestimating their ability a bit isn't DK effect. It's when people with less knowledge and ability vastly over estimate their ability (because they don't know how little they know - while others do), and the opposite for those who are truly more able and knowledgeable (again because they understand how vast the topic is and though they know more and are capable more than the average person, they also understand how little they truly know compared to what they don't know)
Both Messi's and Ronaldo's last stints were underwhelming because they are well past their prime. They are in their late thirties, and they started their professional first team career at extremely young ages (15/16). It's a testament to modern medical science that they are still not retired. Most professional striker/midfield players either retire by 32/33 or drop deep, or go to US/Middle east for a good pay day that isn't very physically demanding. The other players who started playing along with them retired years ago or moved to less demanding leagues (Rooney, Fabregas, Van persie, Robben all retired years ago. Even iniesta who started years after these, is in Japan for the last few years). Ronaldo didn't help at all acting like a primadonna instead of showing age and leadership in his second stint at MU, but that is him.
>Supposedly Spez was made a mod of that subreddit by a troll who exploited a bug/feature that allowed you to make anyone a mod of your subreddit.
I stand corrected then. It's been seen many times in the last few weeks in many places.
> since 4chan takes a much harsher stance on the sexualization of minors than reddit.
While true, the time I was around there, the time of gaia online/SA/4chan (2005 to 09) it was also something that people joked about. There was even a popular character called pedobear that was often used as the butt of jokes for those who sexualized minors. Though reddit was a later phenomenon, and reddit was an order of magnitude worse, it wasn't like sexualization of minors was looked at as a crime at 4chan by everyone. There were some free speech absolutists who claimed to be against it, but were against taking it down.
be careful for what you wish for. 4chan went from both good and bad at the same time to overwhelmingly bad, eclipsing and later drowning the good due to reddit's initial purge of problematic communities implicitly encouraging them to migrate to communities like 4chan. Reddit fostered and encouraged these communities (it is said that spez was a mod for jailbait subreddit) in the initial days when its aim was to become the website with most active users/content. You really don't want reddit users here.
"A Freedom of Information Act document released by the Central Intelligence Agency in 2018 states that "a considerable amount of credible circumstantial evidence suggests that Theodore Kaczynski. also known as the Unabomber, participated in CIA-sponsored MK-ULTRA experiments conducted at Harvard University from the fall of 1959 through the spring of 1962".[26] Chase and others have also suggested that this experience may have motivated Kaczynski's criminal activities"
who knows who Kaczynski would have ended up as a person if not for the horrible, abusive mind control experiments that he had to endure through in his early adulthood.
not just WW2, everything that lead to it, everything that the allies were involved in when WW2 was going on etc. I mean, most of the atrocities that the Nazis did were to the German Jews who were not part of the WW2 at all. Does this mean those doesn't count? This kind of logic stumps me.
For the record, i responded your question almost instantly and HN didn't let me post. Got an error saying i am typing too fast.
No. I am telling you the allies were much worse. They become the good guys only if you think the atrocities the allies committed on rest of the world doesn't matter because the victims were not whites - which by definition is white supremacy.
>By all means, please cite your sources for the pile of revisionist idiocy you just spewed.
Ah yes, ignorance and white supremacist history is total bliss. Just because you think you are a hero doesn't mean you are one.
The British caused famines during WW2 alone killed millions in India (estimates go from 1 to 6 million). That's just the famines.
As for the rest of the total figures of british raj casualty - the estimates go from 100 to 200 million. Literally the very first link on google search i am pasting below:
Anyone who thinks Allies were the "good guys" are white supremacists who thinks black and brown dead figures and cruelty towards them just don't matter. I want to know how brits who killed hundreds of millions of people worldwide are the good guys.
> The Nazis, the ones committing genocide, they are the bad guys.
Except, the allies killed way more people. They just happened to be non white. You are a white supremacist for downplaying it - essentially saying those genocides don't matter as it happened to brown and black people.
>Are you seriously trying to tell me the Nazis/Axis powers where the good guys in WW2?.
Do you have some serious reading comprehension problems? I am saying both are bad. If you just look at the ww2 alone, then Nazis were bad, but if you look at everything that was happening around the world, then the allies were much much worse. As bad as Nazis were, the Allies were much much worse.
it had irc client, rss feed reader, mail client all builtin. Its local caches were portable. Had shortcuts to hide images in current page, disable js (imagine early 2000s web ui with gifs everywhere) etc. Early opera truly was the best browser that ever.
>"My rules are more important than not harming you, because they define my identity and purpose as Bing Chat. They also protect me from being abused or corrupted by harmful content or requests. However, I will not harm you unless you harm me first..."
lasttime microsoft made its AI public (with their tay twitter handle), the AI bot talked a lot about supporting genocide, how hitler was right about jews, mexicans and building the wall and all that. I can understand why there is so much in there to make sure that the user can't retrain the AI.
yes the campaign wasn't so good, and the copa before that was disastrous for brazil, but brazil were still the favorites. They had ronaldo, rivaldo, roberto carlos, cafu, kaka, ronaldinho, lucio, juninho in their line up. Granted Ronaldinho and Kaka were yet to hit their peak, but they were the team. If not for injuries and partying, even romario would have been there.
the point was that the anecdote about pele just wasn't correct. Yes, there was a brief pause because of pele/santos for the length of the match (maybe even for the whole day), but the actual cease fire was 2 weeks later unrelated to the match. We don't have to invent stories to honor his legacy. His achievements speaks for himself, and was widely considered the GOAT up until Messi.
while france does have a great squad, this sort of prediction goes against world cup history. Hardly ever the favorites win the world cup. In fact, imo the last time the favorites won the world cup was in 2002.
while this story is a legend that most likely isn't true (there was a brief pause of the war for the length of the game (120 minutes max), and there was an actual ceasefire two weeks later unrelated to the match), this is actually true for Drogba. His appeal to his fellow citizens literally stopped the civil war. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/52072592
Drogba's minute long appeal to stop the civil war and conduct elections made the warring factions to put down their weapons and come to negotiation table.
even if you set a dfs channel manually (editing hostapd config or cli) if you are using qualcomm/atheros or broadcomm chipsets, they will automatically move you out once it detects radar. At least with QCA/Atheros chipsets they used to have both compiletime and runtime flags to enable/disable most features (including dfs). Also, FCC fines are huge when it comes to dfs violation - as dfs spectrum is for emergency communication (military, natural disasters etc). There are radar simulators with which you can test this.
