qompiler··on The rise and fall of AMD: How an underdog stuck it to Intel
Yes because teams are like liquids, just pour them in a cup and stir that stuff up. sigh
qompiler··on I Knew a Programmer Who Went Completely Insane
Here is my advice, if you think you are really that good, start your own company. Proof it, let the market test you.
qompiler··on FreeBSD Foundation Announces Capsicum Framework Project
Hm yes, I know some of these words
qompiler··on I need a cofounder, so I built okcofounder.com
Your website is blocked on any major corporate network with a web-filter for using "dating" in your title, just letting you know.
qompiler··on NYC law firm employee convicted of stealing $376,000 worth of copy machine toner
That's like 4 Xerox drum cartridges?
qompiler··on Glass developers prohibited from displaying ads, charging for software
That's not allowed either, see https://developers.google.com/glass/terms

"No Fees. You may not charge end users any fees or collect any payments in order to download or access your API Client, or in connection with virtual goods or functionality of your API Client."

No ads, no data collecting and no fees in any form if you use the Mirror API. Maybe these rules won't be applied for Glassware that doesn't use the Mirror API?

qompiler··on Security incident update
This should be the top comment and the reason why companies should disclose this information on time and more often. Just like you would block your card if you get robbed, you should block your card if someone steals your cc data.
qompiler··on Show HN: I'm building an open-source, high-frequency trading system
You are asking how the human brain works, that's a whole different issue and I don't know what Kaggle is/does.
qompiler··on Show HN: I'm building an open-source, high-frequency trading system
Sorry to burst your bubble but high-frequency trading is only viable and necessary for market makers. The end result of any type of algorithm you think of is always a curve-fitting function of existing data.
qompiler··on The Desks Of 23 Successful Tech People
So basically successful tech people don't really work, they let other people work for them and get all the credit.
qompiler··on Great Developers Are Librarians
Most good developer books are like math books, you can't just read them you have to put the material you to practice to fully comprehend it. If you are going through developer books like novels you might be more of a software project manager type who needs to know all the jargon without truly understanding the meaning behind it.
qompiler··on How the CIA Helped Disney Conquer Florida
Lesson learned, don't accept "market value". Squeeze every possible penny out of your deals.
qompiler··on How can we get Google Support?
This is why I don't understand why people use services like Google Hosted Libraries, it's a matter of time someone at Google pulls the plug or messes up breaking your website in the process.
qompiler··on Is Polite Disagreement Becoming Grounds For Removal From A Flight?
> So even with raised voices, why were they considered a threat.

They asked to get near the pilot.. and if you think there aren't parents crazy enough to pull that in front of their kids you probably haven't heard of the westboro baptist church

qompiler··on Is Polite Disagreement Becoming Grounds For Removal From A Flight?
United airlines is like a greyhound bus with wings. It attracts all sorts of crazy people who complain if they get kicked out.
qompiler··on PostgreSQL 9.2.4, 9.1.9, 9.0.13 and 8.4.17 released
/* Is this all it takes? */

PQconnectdb("host=127.0.0.1 dbname=-exploit user=postgres password=postgres port=5432");

qompiler··on Opera will use Blink
More like obsoletion by not differentiating and competing against Google's spyware browser chrome. Instead they opt for a weak and lazy approach, it's just a matter of time now.
qompiler··on JetBrains is working on a cross-platform C++ IDE
I would have agreed with you if Qt used something like the #pragma directive. Alas, they decided to inject keywords inside of the standard language which breaks every C++ compiler.
qompiler··on Professor tells 1700 students to edit Wikipedia, 85% plagiarism rate
only crazy people study psychology
qompiler··on This Professor only has a PhD degree
How will you develop and prove your theories in <field> if you never learned how?
qompiler··on JetBrains is working on a cross-platform C++ IDE
Except for the fact that Qt is not as cross-platform as the standard C++ library. Qt also uses non-C++ features such as signals/slots which require usage of their own Meta Object Compiler.
qompiler··on 1GB Ram & SSD Cloud Hosting for $6
Why not buy your own server and get it collocated?
qompiler··on Comparing Hash Algorithms: Md5, Sha1 or Sha2?
Depends on the application, if you use a hash as a checksum you want it to be as fast as possible.
qompiler··on DARPA gives $3M to Continuum Analytics to improve Python for big data
All I see in these libraries are standard data types which are already available in Python. Are these libraries even being developed by mathematicians? It looks like someone hired a bunch of first grade computer science students to chunk out wrappers.
qompiler··on Bacteria evolve; Conservapedia demands recount (2008)
Uncyclopedia has reported to fully support Conservapedia's stand on this issue.
qompiler··on Issue 224182 - chromium - Chrome wakes me up in the middle of the night
The other problem is windows getting out of sleep mode to install updates without even asking.
