pyb··on H-1B Visa Changes Approved by White House
As the meme goes: "You don't need to sell it to me, I was already convinced!"
pyb··on South Korea's military has shrunk by 20% in six years as male population drops
Have you been to Korea ? Or even the UK ?
pyb··on The current state of LLM-driven development
A fraction of the LLM maximalists are being defensive, because they don't want to consider that they've maybe invested too much time in those tools ; considering what said tools are currently genuinely good at.
pyb··on GPT-5
They look nervous, messing this presentation up could cost them their high-paying jobs.
pyb··on Developing our position on AI
In what sense?
pyb··on Travelers to the U.S. must pay a new $250 'visa integrity fee' – what to know
No fee according to TFA
pyb··on Cloudflare starts blocking pirate sites for UK users
Why is Cloudflare providing its services to known pirate sites?
pyb··on [dead]
I'd support this open letter in principle, but they've gone overboard with their asks and the "anything short of these measures..." bravado
pyb··on The $25k car is going extinct?
In what way are they disappearing ? Here's one for less than £12k. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-search?advertising-location...
pyb··on Some thoughts on my first YC Demo Day
"2 on 20" Am I understanding correctly? If every YC startup is shooting for a 20 million USD valuation, that's amazing. Even if not all will make it.
pyb··on Meta invests $14.3B in Scale AI to kick-start superintelligence lab
Interesting that "high-impact" on the one hand, and innovative/successful in the marketplace on the other, should be at odds at Meta. Makes one wonder how they measure impact.
pyb··on Ask HN: Is ageism in tech still a problem?
Agree with 1-4, 5 and 6 not so correlated with age in my experience.
pyb··on Of all the AI Unicorns founded post transformer. [...] none have come out of YC
Correction : Cohere is a YC company.
pyb··on Ask HN: How do I learn practical electronic repair?
Agree that a foundation in EE is needed, however AoE is not a beginner book.
pyb··on Notes on Tunisia
Biased (local), but there is barely any trash in Paris
pyb··on My AI skeptic friends are all nuts
I'm sure no one reads LLM-produced code very carefully, especially if it "works". At best they skim.
pyb··on Notes on Tunisia
And Bali
pyb··on Sam Altman and Jony Ive Will Force A.I. Into Your Life
"Force AI into your life..."

A lot of the messaging and marketing around AI is so negative and dread-inducing. "Adopt this or you'll fall behind!"

If AI is so great, shouldn't it be sold on its benefits, like any other product?

pyb··on Cloudflare CEO: Football piracy blocks will claim lives
The crux of the matter is that Cloudflare keep providing their protection service to huge piracy sites, for instance archive.is
pyb··on We’ll be ending web hosting for your apps on Glitch
"On ne sort de l'ambigüité qu'à son détriment." a successful politician once said
pyb··on John Carmack talk at Upper Bound 2025 – slides and notes
That's what I said
pyb··on We’ll be ending web hosting for your apps on Glitch
I can't tell from the post if Glitch is shutting down or not.
pyb··on John Carmack talk at Upper Bound 2025 – slides and notes
"... Since I am new to the research community, I made an effort" This means they've probably submitted a paper too.
pyb··on Ask HN: Moving to London from California
The best things to see in the area are outside London: Cambridge/Oxford, the Chilterns...

Places to live if you have a comfortable budget : Clapham is popular with young professionals. Hackney is popular with hipsters. Hampstead if you want to live somewhere nice.

pyb··on Don't guess my language
I don't understand why Google, of all sites, picks your language based on your IP. It ignores not only Accept-Language, but my Google Language settings as well. Their language handling seems to be getting worse over time. Not to mention the long-gone days where you could go to google.co.uk to get UK content.
pyb··on Ask HN: Do people actually pay for small web tools?
What problem(s) are you looking to solve?
pyb··on Universe expected to decay in 10⁷⁸ years, much sooner than previously thought
But taking this the other way around : it's also interesting that some cosmologies are known to be incorrect, because they would enable alternative forms of consciousness.
pyb··on Why is it so hard to find founders to bounce off ideas in city you are visiting?
What cities did you go to ?

I know of only 2 places for this : SF, and Canggu. I've lived in Paris, London, Cambridge(UK), NYC : there are obviously also founders there, but they're too spread out.

pyb··on Four years of running a SaaS in a competitive market
Your website looks good, if I were in the market for such a solution I'd probably consider yours ?

But as someone already said, you maybe need to focus on solving a more specific problem or vertical, rather than being all things to all people. To find it, naybe think back about why you built this in the first place?

A more minor point : I would trust you more as a customer if you added an About page, to put a face on your product.
