I wonder how many of those are Model S. I hope that Model S is not suffering any problems so that Model 3 and Model X can go forward. I am only person in my circle of friends interested in Model S as opposed to the other two models.

Anecdotally, I lost count of the number of Model 3's I see on a daily basis in Bay Area.

I've done Remote Desktop from an airplane and that was actually quite snappy
pseudocook··on The Bullshit Web
Desktop Slack runs on Electron, no? Which essentially lets web developers develop a "native-ish" cross-platform app, without learning a whole new platform.

There is a long, long history of attempts to make good, cross-platform, native apps. In the late 1990s there was a company called Visix that had such a library that worked on Windows and Unix. There have been Windows implementations of Motif/XWindows. There was of course Java/JWT. These days there is Qt. None of these seem to have really caught fire.

edit: I wrote Mac but I meant Unix

I used to be a Smalltalk developer on Windows 3.1 for a brief time in the early 90's. When I found out that internally, Smalltalk was compiled into a sort of intermediate assembly language, and run on a virtual machine, I wondered why couldn't we just distribute the assembly language part over the Internet, where it could be run on any kind of machine with an interepreter. Everyone told me I was crazy, it was impractical, it would never work.
pseudocook··on The structure of the Milky Way
This article reminds me a lot of the book "A Fire upon the Deep" by Vernor Vinge.

While reading this article and viewing the diagram of the Milky Way, I wondered, does time pass more slowly from the point of view of those bodies near the center of the galaxy, which are moving more quickly?
