The UI is inconsistent, esp. wrt the menu bar. Keyboard shortcuts are inconsistent across different apps. macOS remembers window positions, GNOME doesn't. macOS can use different backgrounds for different monitors, GNOME can't. The GNOME Panel is a poor substitute for the macOS Dock (which itself is severely limited) i.e. doesn't offer any visual cue that an app is launching. I could go on.
OSes are a tool. Use what works best for you.
"btrfs is not stable" is coming from people for whom btrfs has not been stable. Why is that so hard to understand?
The First Amendment states "Congress shall make no law ..."; it says only what the *gov't* can and cannot do
I'd say 10 years is a pretty good run for a laptop. YMMV
The answer: it isn't open, it's proprietary. Check out x86 history, it's kinda interesting.
More and more I find myself using the CLI...
Software would need to be repurchased if it's even available on the other platform. Maybe you could but I know I couldn't easily or cheaply switch.
Hyperbole is unbecoming.
Off the top of my head I'd say grooming someone for sexual abuse is a significantly worse form of psychological manipulation. I speak from having experienced both, and only one has had a catastrophic effect on my life.
"The tdelete() function deletes a node from the specified binary search tree and returns a pointer to the parent of the node that was deleted. It takes the same arguments as tfind() and tsearch(). If the node to be deleted is the root of the binary search tree, rootp will be adjusted."
It seems reasonable to infer that if a tree has only 1 node that node is the root node.
If I'm wrong I'd appreciate an explanation; I'm only a hobbyist programmer and my understanding of these things is limited.
