Now use the same sytax to query yahoo weather. Get the point?

I am not sure if i would take back someone who is anyway planning to leave.Even if they do they will fire after they are sure you are redundant, that will mess up your visa status. Search and take up any job for the time being and keep looking.

Feels like a rant. Which doesnt even point out what exactly is wrong and how could have been done right.

That was one of the Gladwell's points in his famous book outliers.

We have a lot of decent developers on our team. But management is still stuck in 90's where everything is done as huge framework building waterfall exercise. The word YAGNI doesnt mean anything to anyone here. So yea lot of skilled devs are writing useless frameworks when they could have producing real business value. So I would say the most important thing is the process once you have a decently skilled team.

Clojure also seems to have lot more momentum behind it.

I am going to get this just for zune integration .

This i found to be the biggest drawback of squat toilets . When you pee from standing position you pee all over the steps .

TDD has nothing to do with testing.

US still favors family based immigration system . So "highest" doest count in this context when compared to points ( skill) based system in other countries like UK.

Experience getting back into us after a vacation during financial meltdown of 2008-2009

Immigration "officer": Are you sure you still have your job at the bank.

Me: yes

Immigration "officer": If that turns out to be false we will kick you out like dogs

Yes immediate and proximate causations for our actions are often wildly different . This has parallels across all species .

A peacock my really feel that it has passion for dance this need to "express itself"( immediate causation )..but to an outside human observer all it is doing is attracting peahens ( ultimate causation)

People seem to have started hiring again at least in the US . I heard my boss lament how they are having hard time finding "bodies" ( they apparently need 2.5 resources for some upcoming project ).

I am in similar position but doing a depressing job ( for major portion of the day) takes a physiological toll on you . Everything ( lemonade ) looks uninteresting .

If my boss walks in on me watching a movie at work and asks me to get back to work. I would have no problem "coping" with that and a getting back to work . My boss doesnt send me an alter that work is coming . There is never a "conflict". Not sure where all this advice for obsessive parenting is coming from, lets enjoy our time with our kids instead of designing alert systems or obsessing over their physcology . Kids are not small sized adults .Please...

I grew up in shut the TV and do the homework world ..yea it sucked but its not any worse than many other things that i had no control upon.

If you have previous experience with Lisp . Then probably yes. The book seems to assume familiarity with clojure already .

I Love this "thing" ..now as an employer i know where to go if i am looking for a rails fanboy/ open source enthusiast /mentors .

Do you mind telling what are the few things that you used clojure for ?

That's usually the case for DDonuts and Subways but Indians who create high tech startups are usually the ones who stood in line for a greencard ( sometimes for decades ).

What is wrong with milk ? .

I love the spirit . What you become while reaching a goal is more important than where you reach in the end.

Yea having to version a "REST"ful api usually means its a was not very restful in the first place . Meaning the api is not hypertext driven and is probably a rpc style api with meaningful urls. If it was hypertext driven it would all be transparent to the consumers , it could be v2 or foobar , doesn't matter .

"Individuals and interactions over processes and tools" ...people are more important than any process ..and considering them "resources" is not valuing people enough. What i said has nothing to do with team roles

So you prefer waterfall ? Most of my gigs have been in big corporate environments where people are considered "resources" and agile has nothing but savior for me . Bad agile is always better than even good waterfall .

I have heard from atleast 2 sports orthos that squatting is bad for you knees. I guess it shouldn't matter when you are doing it the right way with adequate recovery period but nevertheless its easy to screw up your joints . One even said that squatting is a very unnatural moment for human body and is best to avoid it .

I personally think it would interfere with your recovery and make you prone to injuries . Just follow the program, Dont overdo it .

This has nothing to do with caste system. India doesn't have the social safety net like the west, so people tend to be more conservative, for example if you get injured at work , you are screwed for rest of your life , no disability benefits like in the west . Believe it or not I went half my life without knowing what my caste is, no one cares about caste at least in the cities .

H1B's and illegal immigrants cannot start companies . Let alone a successful company .

What would be his legal status while he is doing that ? Or does he have to create his company in his home country and move it to US to get a green card.
