pranshuchittora··on Firebase SDK is CRASHING ALLLL iOS Apps, since today morning
Yes, so basically all Android devices comes with Play Services that's why we need firebase. But in regions like China they have their own Play Services alternative and inorder to send notifications to those devices OneSignal or others provides a unified wrapper.

I can understand the pain as an indie dev ;(

No, not under your control. It is like "trust me bro" thing from your dependency maintainers.

I think verification is still a grey area in the agentic software dev. QA and ppl testing it often resort to coding agents for the QA work, and we all know how good agents are at convincing themselves.

No matter who writes the code, the name in the commit is responsible as well as the person who approved / reviewed the PR.
pranshuchittora··on Firebase SDK is crashing all iOS apps since this morning
Yes that's the sad part, if you want to integrate Push Notification in your app, and you want to use a 3rd party vendor like OneSignal etc, you still need a fuckin FIREBASE account & FIREBASE dependencies in your app. So every app on the Play Store comes with firebase dependency.
pranshuchittora··on Firebase SDK is CRASHING ALLLL iOS Apps, since today morning
Yes, but the SaaS adoption is also the reason. Many analytics SDKs, observability tooling etc.

pranshuchittora··on Shopify is moving from React Native back to Swift and Kotlin
I think the Duo support is not there, it will be there at the end of the year.
pranshuchittora··on Shopify is moving from React Native back to Swift and Kotlin
Power on pluggable bundles. So you can change the business logic, but if you want to change any native dependency then you do need a new app binary which needs the same app store review process.

My 2 cents on this as a fellow RN dev & contributor. - The performance gains in native compared to RN (new architecture) are minimal for normal UIs (except games) - The most valuable feature which RN have is OTA updates, this has been a game changer for us and many fast moving companies. Ability to release and iterate at light speed. On native you are on the mercy of the app stores for review. - Silos of bugs on native > When you go native you might encounter bugs which appear only on either platform. - The project management of native teams is not always in sync - The teams often drift apart bevy iOS team might need 2 weeks just to make the app compatible with the new iPhone Fold (Duo) or Android team might encountered a blocker. Keeping them in sync for new features is really hard.

pranshuchittora··on Ask HN: In post AI world, who is responsible if the code break?
Makes sense, but since companies are using coding agents more. Like if you see some repos the top contributor is claude. Since PRs are being made by agents, if you do a git blame claude is the one responsible for the change. In that case who's responsible? Reviewer?

Looks modern. But some honest feedback. 1. The lines layout is too common these days. 2. Can you dial down the border width a bit some of them are too thick. 3. The left border like on this block - A conversation begins rsc.rmdes.be/users/rss.xml. This design is usually linked to vibe slop, pls change this. 4. On this page - https://rsc.rmdes.be/?tab=local I am see too much spacing between items, pls make it a bit compact.

pranshuchittora··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (July 2026)
I am working on building an self-improving QA agent for software teams. Free and open-source. It is an agentic testing harness with batteries, includes the test runner infra (web & mobile), memory (vector store, local embedding model powered by transformers.js, self improving loop, issue reporting. More details - https://vostride.ai | Code - https://github.com/vostride/agent-qa

pranshuchittora··on Ask HN: Is Codex with GPT 5.5 Extra High being dumbed down?
Yes, I feel so. I started happening from june first weekish. I have shifted to claude code for planning things and codex for execution (as it is faster, though dumb)

pranshuchittora··on Ask HN: How do you handle QA at a startup with no QA team? Genuinely curious
Use https://github.com/vostride/agent-qa you don't need a QA team just ask coding harness to write tests and you can review the test runs.
