It is because they are limiting access to their kids, while actively creating and executing algorithms to increase user engagement even to the point of making people addictive and dependent on their platforms.
That every country has its share of people who engage in such backward-looking, glorifying-the-past behavior does not make it right.
If not, can you please explain what "gate analysis" is?
$ perl -Mstrict -e 'say $x'
Global symbol "$x" requires explicit package name (did you forget to declare "my $x"?) at -e line 1.
Execution of -e aborted due to compilation errors.
With the addition of `Coy` module [1]: $ perl -Mstrict -MCoy -e 'say $x'

> However, I'm a bit puzzled by the weird direction the journalist ran with this, which is straight to his preconceived notions that are not that supported by the data he's looking at.
Is it possible that your own preconceived notions about the author and the publication may have caused you to judge this way?
In any case, don't trust every comment posted on Hacker News (including my own) :)

I doubt that. Netflix didn't start with original content. They had to spend many years acquiring their substantial member-base before they started experimenting with the original content. If the company literally launched with House of Cards with no existing members to speak of, it would have been much tougher for them to convince people to pay them money and watch their as yet unproven original content.Direct link: https://theintercept.com/2016/09/23/big-players-little-stock...

cpanminus (cpanm) is an attempt to make a zero-configuration client
that automatically does the right thing for most users. It's also
designed to run well on systems with limited resources (e.g. a VPS).
It doesn't come with Perl, but it's easy to install.
It integrates easily with local::lib.
