I’d agree this kinda defeats the purpose of using custom domains and aliases. Because ideally no one should be able to get to your original Fastmail account. I saw this too while snooping around in the headers, not sure what to think of it but it’d be great if this is completely hidden from outgoing emails.

Just to clarify, in Fastmail, you have the option to add alias email addresses to your Fastmail account. It's like in Gmail where you can add a "+" or "." after your primary email's local part, and it will still get delivered to your original Gmail inbox. This is like that but you can assign any addresses to forward to your original Fastmail account. They even advertise this as a privacy feature[0] (though I'm not sure if they have different treatment than Aliases[1])

What OP was saying is that Fastmail internally adds an email header that reveals your original Fastmail account during a process to route your emails. This header will be presented if you then reply to an incoming email sent to an alias or masked address, thus leaking your original email to the receiver.

The TP-7’s disc does have haptic feedback in the menus, it clicks and resists based on the context. It’s a solid design.

I had a problem with the monitor where the EDID gets constantly erased if the HDMI cable is unplugged in certain conditions. Usually there's a service menu hidden somewhere you can enable so that the EDID EEPROM becomes writable. That doesn't seem to work in my case, so I ended up opening the monitor and hard wired the write enable pin. This happens so often (it's an old monitor I got for free) I drilled a hole and put a switch on the pin lol.

Perhaps those computers count as evidence and they don't want to mess with it?

I've been using .xyz as my primary email address. Everything from banking to shopping, to governmental stuff. The number of sites that gave me problems is probably less than 10 that I can remember. I have around 700 accounts in my password manager so go figure.

That won’t really solve this problem, the problem is due to these websites uses Sign In with Google, so it’s out of your control. However if you’re just looking to de-Google in general, I’d recommend Fastmail for email provider. It’s surprisingly cheap for the value it offers.

People are suggesting ublock and other browser extension based blocks, I just wish there’s a DNS level block that won’t have unintended consequences. Mainly because of iOS devices. In one of the article that a commenter posted, it suggests blocking “smartlock.google.com”, I’ll try it for a while and see how broken things are.
