post-it··on I'm a seeing-eye dog for a computer
If my job gets automated, I'll find something else to do. I wouldn't have wanted lamplighters to succeed in preventing electrification, so it would be unfair for me to prevent the automation of my job if it can be done.
post-it··on I'm a seeing-eye dog for a computer
The same can be said of stuff like cloud storage and email and social media. And yet here we are.
post-it··on Hacking IKEA Furniture
Solid wood is also a nightmare to move.
post-it··on Debian votes to allow "responsible use of generative AI"
It's crazy picking up a project that took me days of frustration pre-AI and just adding features like it's nothing.
post-it··on Our decision on Cursor following its acquisition by SpaceX
I can't imagine it would.
post-it··on We found a division by zero bug in FFmpeg with a vibecoded fuzzer
It also took insanely long on my iPhone 16. "Made with heart in Canada" but configured poorly.
post-it··on Nvidia Starts Pac as AI Chip Maker Builds DC Influence Force
This guy hasn't watched the Big Short.
post-it··on Air Conditioning Is Not a Luxury, It Is a Necessity
Into drains in the parking garage in the case of my building. Though thinking more about it now, it's totally reasonable that other buildings might find it easiest to drain to the outside unit.
post-it··on Nitter and XCancel receive cease and desist notices
Crazy thing to write on a post about X censoring mirrors.
post-it··on Air Conditioning Is Not a Luxury, It Is a Necessity
Condensate is discharged from the inside unit, it should never make it to the balcony.
post-it··on It’s so hard to finish an idea that is not yours and is just suggested by AI
I've been whittling my way towards having Claude write zero comments in code. They're pretty much never helpful.
post-it··on Credit Card Rewards Became a $9.2B Wealth Transfer
Because sales tax is something you pay that's more than the sticker price, and people tend to have an intuition for sales tax in their area. Personally, I find "a 3% credit card fee is like paying 21% more in sales tax" to be intuitive.
post-it··on Credit Card Rewards Became a $9.2B Wealth Transfer
That is what it says after all, it's pretty explicit.
post-it··on How credit card rewards became a $9.2B wealth transfer
That's what makes it a wealth transfer, from debit card users to you.
post-it··on Kobo can run apps now
I also have the Clara BW and haven't done any modding on it but it's been on my todo list. Would you be willing to briefly describe issues you've run into with it?
post-it··on Casio F-B100W-1A
Immediate popup asking me to select my country, and when I selected Canada it tells me the page can't be found. Great UX work as always.
post-it··on Devices with GrapheneOS support should be available in 2027
Because you don't have capital.
post-it··on Google buys crashed airline Spirit's data at auction, because AI
I have a bridge to sell you.
post-it··on As AI eats the web, the internet’s collective memory is disappearing
The point of good architecture is that when your requirements change, it's easy to change your code to accommodate them. But with AI, it's always easy to change your code to accommodate changing requirements. So the impact of bad architecture is low and you can focus on solving today's problems instead of tomorrow's problems.
post-it··on Grok 4.6 scores 61 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index
Remember when he got hired by the federal government and walked away with a ton of private data?
post-it··on As AI eats the web, the internet’s collective memory is disappearing
It's really good at writing code.
post-it··on SQLite Critical CVEs or LLM Slop?
But could an attacker with access to zip tools exploit it to get a root shell? Probably not, but maybe.
post-it··on Rear center fuel tank adds roughly 20k liters and extends range by 1k NM
Just like The Jaunt by Stephen King. "It's longer than you think, dad! ...about 22 hours."
post-it··on The Growing Compute Shortage
They'll become a reality on the same day as solar roadways.
post-it··on The Growing Compute Shortage
Not what it says.

> We fit a trend to the quarterly quantities of AI compute sold, as measured in H100-equivalents. We find that computing capacity has been growing by 3.3x per year, equivalent to a doubling time of 7 months.

This is just a graph of cash changing hands. I transferred a loonie from one hand to the other one trillion times this morning and have the largest data centre in the world.

post-it··on The LLM Critics Are Right. I Use LLMs Anyway
> And this is where the value is for me: I can simply make things higher quality than I could do them alone.

Yeah, that's the thing for me. LLMs have made my work easier and faster, and they've made my side projects easier and faster. I think there are very sensible and valid critiques but so far the tool works for me.

post-it··on Vancouver PD website features Quick Escape button that wipes itself from history
Well there's no need to suppose. While I think if it hasn't been exploited in 30 years, there probably isn't an attack surface, you can always demonstrate and report an exploit.
post-it··on The infinite scroll may become endangered if controversial Calif. law passes
I disagree. Looking forward to reading your amicus brief.
post-it··on Zig Creator Calls Spade a Spade, Anthropic Blows Smoke
You're not seriously out here posting raw numbers without considering the base rate are you
post-it··on AI content is everywhere on social media, especially LinkedIn
Right, but I hadn't really heard it before until I started using AI daily.
