poppypetalmask··on Show HN: 500 years of Joseon court omens as an observability dashboard
Yes, that horse story is perfect. One of the things I love about the Sillok is that even the king wasn’t above the record. Kings were educated to think their conduct would be judged by history, and then you get this very human little entry where the king basically says “don’t log this,” and the system logs that too.
poppypetalmask··on Ignoring boys' emotional needs fuels public health risks
It's not that men are portrayed as fools and women are not. It's more likely that women in the shows you are describing are there as fillers and not as characters of their own right -flawed or not-.
poppypetalmask··on The Leverage of LLMs for Individuals
With AI making execution bit easier, the idea will become relatively less cheap.
poppypetalmask··on Show HN: I may have created a new type of puzzle
Seems to me a good comparison between inductive and deductive reasoning. - with a simple logic puzzle like this, both are fairly comparable - especially when some adults (me included) start with the wrong assumption, like two can't be in one node, which will slow down the process

poppypetalmask··on Babies born to older fathers 'tend to have more medical issues'
I've always thought Atticus Finch as the most ideal father.
poppypetalmask··on Ask HN: What podcasts do you listen to regularly?
I see many of my favorites are already recommended, but these relatively niche ones are also amazing

For language/ culture: A way with words; If you speak Spanish: Radio Ambulante, Gag Ortega; Comedy: Beef and Dairy podcast, CBB; New: Where do we begin (real therapy session recording)

poppypetalmask··on Write – A word processor for handwriting
Was looking for an electronic writing device and would have have done bought Remarkable if there were feature like this. Instead I got Sharp electronic notebook. It was WAY cheaper, and working out great so far.
poppypetalmask··on Thank you HN
I agree. Mild depression for most of my life and running has been the biggest help in regulating my mood. Not only that running makes me feel better but the fact that 'I' can make myself feel better by going for a run is meaningful to me.
