pom··on How Javascript Prototypal Inheritance Really works
It took me a while to get it, especially since the new keyword makes matters really confusing. But after reading about the language Self, I am really using prototypal inheritance, and no more of the "new" business for me.
pom··on Finally someone makes sense of JavaScript's this keyword
I had trouble with this at first, but an easy thing to remember is that "this" is scoped dynamically; as many have noted before, you can easily create a lexical "that" or "self" reference from it, but the other way around is impossible. This dynamic scope is a bit strange when everything else has local scope but it can be quite powerful.

When "this" gives you a hard time, the Function.bind() method is often a good solution too.

pom··on Poll: iOS developers how many apps have you published?
Still working on my first one to be published. I have a rejected app as well but it was really borderline and I knew it had very little chances of being accepted, so I put as little work as I could into it. I liked that someone from Apple actually asked to talk to me on the phone to notify me of my rejection :)

There is a webapp version of my app that works nice on the iphone after you save to the home screen here: http://romulusetrem.us/randomhead/

pom··on Stackoverflow: Are there any famous one-man-army programmers?
My answer was James Clark: he did groff, sgmls, expat, and important parts of the XML and Relax NG specs among others.
pom··on Ask HN: Any good math jokes?
Here's one but it's in French.

pom··on Ask HN: please review my html5 web game
Maybe you should try to use the simpler storage API like localStorage as it is more widely supported?
