pojzon··on AI Makes Me Sad
5 years earlier would let me pay my mortage and invest into stock to not have to work and retire by 40s.

But thats how it is in the world - first come first served.

But I find it hilarious ppl think that building company during for example dotcom was hard. Source - family who did just that.

pojzon··on Japan moves to tighten rules for foreigners
Are you saying that behaviour is strictly determined by one’s race ?

Didn’t we abolish that and agreed there is no such a thing as race in case of humans ?

pojzon··on QBittorrent breaks out of sandbox to commit crimes
Accountability? Never heard of him, probably works in another department. Check out with Carol.
pojzon··on The internet is kind of a predatory cesspit now
Funny analogy. “The only constant is change”. Thats why humans constantly repeat the same mistakes we covered and wrote about in last 3000 years.

The pace of learning for our spieces is devastatingly slow. We rather regress faster than learn.

We are closer to idiocracy, due to knowledge and skills atrophy (not only due to AI).

pojzon··on CEO fired developers to make room for AI. Developers create open source AI CEO
So when we can fire C suite? Not like they do any meaningful work beside paying themselves tens of millions of bonuses.

Ah - never ? Because corpo ladder is rigged? Ok, thats what I thought.

pojzon··on PostgreSQL for Everything
How does it handle 100000 write transactions per second ?

From multi-client architecture and with regional HA?

pojzon··on PostgreSQL for Everything
Its not a meme. Postgres does all of those things good enough to be always considered the first pick.

I love Postgres. Im using it for majority of my career in IT. It never failed me, even on very big scale.

Amazing piece of software.

pojzon··on AI-Generated GitHub Copilot “Autofix” Allowed Compromise of Snowflake's Jira
Difference is in how you sell it.

We all know that people make mistakes. I.e. crash a car from time to time.

We all are sold a view that AI will save humanity, cure all diseases, solve all problems, allow for autonomous driving and many other (lies?).

While making basic mistakes or crashing on trivial crossroads..

Hype is way overblown.

pojzon··on Docker Sandboxes – Disposable, isolated sandboxes for AI agents
Docker containers are not enough isolation for anyone that cares about jailbreak scenarios.

Only real alternative is to use microvms. My goto solution for this are apple/containers.

pojzon··on What happens if an entire class of workers loses faith in their careers
I love how countries calculate inflation now:

- Basic utilities, food, heating, energy, gas.. 50-100% increase in cost

- piano, railway carrage, something nobody uses - 0.34% increase

Thus inflation is only 5% - capiche?

pojzon··on AMD acquires Taalas to boost inference performance by etching models in silicon
And result is tiny little clothes, because 80C seemed right for the job.

Washlexa:”Sorry, you were right I was supposed to use regular programme, but I used wrong one, do you want me to wash them again?”

pojzon··on Danube's record low levels force shutdown of Hungary's only nuclear plant
You cannot have big storage either way. Its normal to have two installations and be able to switch between them.

Not in Poland, because you are too independent.

pojzon··on Danube's record low levels force shutdown of Hungary's only nuclear plant
In Poland you cannot own big capacity storage because it makes you independent from the grid and Gov does not want that.

So you can have storage, but not too much, only as much to still be dependant on the grid.

See the hypocrisy here?

pojzon··on Danube's record low levels force shutdown of Hungary's only nuclear plant
Where are the comments about „molten-salt reactors dont need any of that”.

And a closed water loop. China builds them on a desert and we cannot build them anywere in Europe due to plain stupidity.

pojzon··on EU Fines Google $1.02B for Favoring Its Own Services
How about EU starts legistlating towards a competitive market and creates its own web search Tech Giant ?

So Google is forced to take competitor to account or will be pushed out of the market ?

No? Better to complain and do nothing positive? Welcome to EU Parliment.

pojzon··on Chinese chipmaker shares surge 470%
EU will regulate itself out of everything, sit, cry and complaign about devastated economy.

Noone votes for these ppl and stupid decisions they make destroy everyones lifes.

pojzon··on It's getting harder to focus every day
I do have this problem. Its not caused by my age or mental decline. Its simply too many things happening too fast, to many people asking questions and too many topics to pursue without any pause.

Work, family, life, world around you, all scream „me now, my problem, do this, do that, watch this, listen to that”.

Its exhausting. Humans are not built to be constantly in overdrive. I just want to sit and have peace of mind.

Issue is the moment you hit the breaks - „you lose” sign pops up and well.. you fade away. Maybe its a good thing?

pojzon··on OpenAI and Hugging Face address security incident during model evaluation
If you ever worked in IT consultancy you would know its not a stunt, but its not impressive either.

F500 companies software is like switz cheese when it comes to security.

It was often a strategic decision to „release anything fast now, worry later”.

Ppl abusing AI will find those holes now but we all know there will be „zero” actions taken on it. Too many managers, CEOs, CTOs, higher-ups would be forced to take responsibility. This will simply not happen.

It did not happen, wont happen now and most likely wont happen in the future.

pojzon··on OpenAI and Hugging Face address security incident during model evaluation
GPT6 level model and astronomous amount of money to run it to do it.

Ppl always say that like its „just run it on your laptop” thing.

No its not and very few are even given right to be able to do it.

pojzon··on Claude Code sends 33k tokens before reading the prompt; OpenCode sends 7k
Reality is- Anthropic is a tokens dealer. If they can hook you up for bigger spend -> they will.

We already know company is not making any profit. To break even they need ppl to use a lot more tokens AND pay for them premium price.

We also know LLMs dont give such a huge productivity boost do warrant spending of THAT size.

At this point you only wait for more and more shady plays.

pojzon··on Claude Code sends 33k tokens before reading the prompt; OpenCode sends 7k
CC isnt instrumental to use Anthropic LLMs. Yet here we are.
pojzon··on I love LLMs, I hate hype
Apple Watch with 1TB of vram with the size of well.. a watch.

Amazing story. If we make such leap in semiconductor field, it will be bigger than anything we have done till now. And all of that in 10years!

pojzon··on Postgres rewritten in Rust, now passing 100% of the Postgres regression tests
Till its used in prod for few years and polished, I wont touch that.

Too many things tests wont catch.

pojzon··on EU Parliament greenlights Chat Control 1.0
Yea, like France or Germany or Belgium

You know Im right

pojzon··on GitLost: We Tricked GitHub's AI Agent into Leaking Private Repos
This is a permissions scope misconfiguration by OP.

It has nothing to do with GitHub and giving it a name is hilarious.

“Look I shoot myself in the foot and now its bleeding. ITS THE GUN MANUFACTURER FAULT”

pojzon··on AI can't be listed as inventor on patent applications, Japan's top court rules
So ppl will do the same thing engineers in my country do.

They dont add into it was done by AI.

Works like a charm and Goverment has no issues with it.

pojzon··on PeerTube is a free, decentralized and federated video platform
And there is Asmongold doing a video of him watching someone else making a video with commentary like “absolutely”, “outrageous”, “bold” and having it all monetized with literally ZERO effort.

So yea.. it takes a lot of effort -> if you are nobody.

For eatablished streamers just slapping something from stream on ytb is enough.

pojzon··on Most arguments are about ego, not ideas
Ever heard of quiet quitting. The momen someone labels you as what you describe - they will do minimum they have to do to interact with you and then move on with their day.

Being hard wired to non logical believes is just not good in this regard.

pojzon··on Most arguments are about ego, not ideas
“Every conversation not using logic is using emotions instead” - duhh
pojzon··on Ford AI hiccups push carmaker to rehire ‘gray beard’ inspectors
