Opening this URL: http://get.google.com/spaces/ in Firefox Developer Edition crashes it instantly.

po1nter··on Building a GSM BTS Using the BladeRF, RPi and YateBTS
I tried saving this page to the internet archive (in case the blog goes down) but it seems that the owner doesn't allow bots to index/cache/mirror his content.
po1nter··on Namecheap live chat social engineering leads to loss of 2 VPS
Since the CIO (and another employee) are here. Why are you not offering support for Google Authenticator? Last time someone asked for it was 2 years ago[1] and still no sign of the feature. Cheap prices are good to have but combining that with more security can only add value.

po1nter··on NPM and Left-Pad: Have We Forgotten How to Program?
Everyone keeps mentioning the lack of a standard library for JavaScript as an excuse for this shit show. IMO this is just a futile attempt to mask incompetence.
po1nter··on Dear Apple, there’s nothing ‘really sad’ about using a 5-year-old PC
I don't understand how the author went from the guy saying it's "really sad" to "Apple is insulting people". I mean even his first argument on why people don't upgrade IS actually sad since they can't afford to do that. I know it is because I'm one of those people who can't afford to upgrade my machine.

po1nter··on Sun, Oracle, Android, Google, Mozilla and JDK Copyleft FUD
I'm wondering why doesn't Google ditch Java entirely and create something like XobotOS[1]. I know it wouldn't be a popular move but at least the devs will get a decent language to use (C#) and users will have a better performing OS[2]

po1nter··on Paris Shootings and Explosions Kill Over 100, Police Say
According to iTele there are now 118 dead.

po1nter··on ShareX – Open-source screenshare software
What? the first time you capture something it asks you explicitly if you want to upload it or disable the feature. You might have missed that.

It's works fine here using the right arrow on Firefox Nightly 40.0a1 running on Ubuntu 15.04.
po1nter··on Visual C++ Cross-Platform Mobile
They'd be competing with Xamarin if they did that.

How many times we must have submissions related to this on the front page? are you guys that desperate for karma or whatever that is? especially since this exact information is present in the original submission[1]. I don't think it warrants its own submission. Just my 2 cents.

/rant.

I don't think we need to clutter the front page with all these easter eggs found on Google Maps. Especially when this exact one is posted as a comment[1] in the previous thread about this[2].

po1nter··on Hidden backdoor API to root privileges in Apple OS X
OT but I have to say that the amount of Apple apologists in these comments is mind blowing. HN reader of all people should be the ones urging Apple to issue a fix for a very serious bug such as this one. Yet many comments here are saying that people should just upgrade while it might solve the problem for some, there are ones who can't upgrade machines at will.
po1nter··on NSA Spy Cam Blocker
Nice idea but I wish more manufacturers had something like this built into their laptops. An old ASUS of mine came with a sliding piece of plastic that you could use to cover the webcam[1] when not in use.
