Thanks for mentioning this. I was going to give this a try this weekend but that's a dealbreaker for me.

Just as a warning for anyone price-sensitive interested in taking this course, its cost is non-zero due to cloud costs. It is free to audit though! I'm not trying to dissuade anyone; it is just good to know going into it.

For whatever reason, starting "streaks" has become popular with my friends, where the same friends will snap me everyday and expect a snap in reply so that our counter of consecutive days increases over time. I hate to admit it, but I enjoy this gamification of the service, and it has resulted in me checking snapchat everyday for more than 650 consecutive days. I know it's been that long because that is my longest snap streak, but the truth is that I am rarely the one that breaks the streak so it has probably been much longer than that. There is also definitely a feeling of disappointment and relief when a large streak is broken.

Something that's not addressed in the article, but I have noticed about myself is that I am more likely to order multiple sizes of a piece of clothing online, and return all but the piece that fits the best. That might contribute to larger purchase sizes. Sites like amazon make this particularly easy.

I haven't found that to be true in NYC, Boston, Atlanta or Kansas City, where startups are called startups. That being said, with the exception of maybe Kansas City, I consider all of these places east coast tech centers heavily influenced by the largest American tech center, Silicon Valley.
