plagiarist··on Meta launches Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp subscriptions
There used to be a single streaming service that had the majority of the content with zero ads. Now we are back to ad-ridden cable TV pricing with nearly zero product features. Paying these shitbirds will not cause them to invest in the product. Meta isn't even generating any of the content, at least streaming services are doing that much with the money they are given.

1. This is why I use podman

2. I have little to no sympathy for anyone running an AI agent with their full user permissions outside of a container or VM

Ahh luckily this OAM socket will prevent me from spending money.

You're writing a response to a racist who supports Donald out of racism, even despite the innumerable policy failures.

They're racist. The argument is racism.

There was a HN user recently on a related post explaining to everyone that they don't need privacy because they personally aren't harmed and a murderer was caught by one of these cameras.

It turns out protesters don't need privacy, either, because of various reasons. Same for women seeking adequate healthcare, I'm sure. Or LGBT people attempting to exist.

Sorry, I am strawmanning a little. Actually, we'll simply have regulations on use. Regulation which will certainly be followed this time by a government with complete disregard for Constitutional rights. Certainly they will never be misused by the police currently stalking their ex-partners with existing surveillance systems despite existing stalking legislation.

I wish the legislation you talked about existed already. I am dismayed by the overwhelming number of people that love being surveilled. Without them, we would have it already.

Since it is done under guise of a corporation, there will be zero actual consequences for the individuals involved in the theft. Nor will there be any consequences for the officers involved in violating rights.

There really needs to be consequences for blatantly manipulating courts to waste money and delay judgement.

plagiarist··on Motorola phones have started hijacking the Amazon app to insert affiliate codes
I had forgotten that we are paying billionaires to own stadia. Cannot find funding for schools or libraries but we can sure pay someone who doesn't need the money so they can build a monument to their own ego.

The solution is to not buy the tickets
plagiarist··on Agentic Patterns
It really is. And why so often? It is hard to imagine this construct is that prevalent in training data.
plagiarist··on When (if ever) it's appropriate to make jokes before the US Supreme Court
"Why are people discussing SCOTUS when the topic is SCOTUS, my goodness."

Yeah, unfortunately these days you have to choose between stressful awareness or (often deliberate) complete ignorance. Sometimes I do wish I was too unintelligent to understand what's wrong, I might be able to enjoy life a bit more.

plagiarist··on When (if ever) it's appropriate to make jokes before the US Supreme Court
I'd prefer SCOTUS to blog about when it is appropriate for a justice to fly treason flags supporting insurrectionists or decline to recuse themselves from cases involving their insurrectionist family members.
plagiarist··on Trump Mobile exposed customers' personal data
It's worthy if they think they'd get good click through rate on "privacy protection service" scam links in the emails.
plagiarist··on Trump Mobile exposed customers' personal data
That's pretty good, but the Wiki page is far more diplomatic about definitions than my understanding of the word.

They have decades of Fox News brainwashing them into radicalization. The groups they hate are "plotting against them and looking down on them." The concept of returning to some idealized past is a superficial veneer over their actual desires: to harm the groups they disdain.

plagiarist··on Trump Mobile exposed customers' personal data
The only surprise would be that it is not deliberate. Previously, the Trump White House deliberately exposed citizens' personal data. That's what customers should expect.

plagiarist··on Qwen3.7-Max: The Agent Frontier
I think their Max models are far bigger than fits on consumer hardware. People are typically using Apple, AMD Halo, or dGPUs if/when they do smaller versions. Those are all varying degrees of "affordable."

plagiarist··on I won't download your app. The web version is a-ok
That's one of the main reasons to not install an app. Extremely few apps are able to limit their notifications to actually transactional events. As soon as they have the capability they start spamming away.
