pixeljamon FlowCE: Calculus on your TI-84 Plus CE

Cool! Is it based on KhiCAS for the CG50 (the one with the extremely confusing documentation)?

Also doesn't this pose a risk of being used in math exams? I remember hearing a kid in my high school trying to cheat through the aforementioned.

pixeljamon Sorry we made you grind LeetCode

Is this the tool that they're using for the new round in Google interviews (in the US)?

pixeljamon GitHub's new dashboard experience now the default

I agree, I'm sorry but the github home page infuriates me to no end.

I ended up making a userscript to redirect github.com -> github.com/<user>/repos in the end :P

pixeljamon Does Reddit have an astroturfing problem? What the data suggests

It's really a shame when I stumble across an old (8y+) reddit post from search results, and I see that the useful replies are either from [deleted] or [Removed by moderator]. :(

pixeljamon 500k facial scans at UK stations yield no arrests, 1 false positive

Unfortunately, this would actually catch shitheads and improve the country, so the UK would never do this.

pixeljamon UK military jamming other nations' satellites to defend itself, BBC told

A lot of banks in the UK have mobile-app-exclusive features / services. I imagine this is because of security, but it also makes little sense. If you don't have a smartphone it is about 5x harder to do anything online-banking related here. I remember when I went camping a bit ago my phone died and I was unable to unfreeze my card.

Also, cool username =)

pixeljamon Sublime Text Build 4213

Does this I can finally add it to my NixOS config without having to use `permittedInsecurePackages`?

https://github.com/sublimehq/sublime_text/issues/5984 :)

pixeljamon Steam Frame starts at $1059

I think it's a little dishonest to say they don't care. They made proton, they put out patches for their games on Linux fairly frequently.. in comparison to 80% of companies they go above and beyond.

I think this is just a symptom of Valve neglecting their (old and new) games as a whole.

> Left 4 Dead 2 has major frame pacing and stutter issues on the Native Build

Is this a common problem? I've never had it :P

Thank you for the advice. I appreciate it =)

So industry experience is more valued than a proper degree in CS?

pixeljamon Ask HN: Which offer should I take - 18 years old.

Thank you!

I am thinking if I get a London role I will take it 100%. If I get Manchester I will have to weigh up the two some more.

Can I ask - did you use to live in London? Is it feasible for two 18yos to rent together in a not shit place for like £2000 a month? I'm not really familiar with the city

pixeljamon Ask HN: Which offer should I take - 18 years old.

Yeah I was unsure if I should stick around or not.

I know someone who is a contractor and it seems having a broader range of companies on your CV looks better. At least from my perspective. He previously worked at a company for 15 years and got an ok salary - after about a year contracting he doubled it.

pixeljamon Ask HN: Which offer should I take - 18 years old.

Job with worse degree (potentially) vs Degree which might get me a (better) job in the future.

Honestly, I'm unsure. I figure if people say experience is more valued in SWE / cybersec / devops then I will go for the former. If education is valued more I will go for uni. Looking for experienced people's thoughts
