php_survivor··on Show HN: Investment Bets – A performance tracker for market bets
Hey, thanks for the question!

So, the server that runs the website also fetches the data on demand, which it then caches for up to 1 minute in order to not get denied with 429 Too Many Requests. That was the optimal balance between freshness and stability in my tests.

I'm using a cheap server provider for now, so my server costs amount to around $5/month. I expect that to (hopefully) scale up, but for now it works without issues.

Would it work to also charge a modest refundable fee (say $1 per month) from sellers via Stripe or someone else who does KYC, and then use that as a base of "this person has been flagged as known" to solve most KYC concerns in this post?
php_survivor··on Show HN: Fifteen – buy a spot on a board where your position decays 5% a day
That's a pretty cool idea, still considering whether to bid. However, it does seem a bit unfair that some gifts show higher than paid spots.

I'm somewhat confused about the auction for the next day versus the current line - can you elaborate on that?

Also, I tried looking at the stats but the page throws a 404 error - maybe something to look into.

Overall a cool concept, I like it.

php_survivor··on Show HN: LilScript makes JavaScript libraries smaller
I'd like to check it out, but I can't seem to find the GitHub link.

The concept is very cool, but why does it need to download such a large binary? The site says "Installs the mm command — a self-contained binary, no Node needed (60–120 MB, auto-detects your platform)."
