You should check out the shenanigans that the US government gets away with. Whatever bad things Musk, Gates and crew is small fry compared to the government.

There should be a law for this. Even for cellphones. When corporations market themselves as environmentally conscious, but don't allow the replacement of common wear items in their gadgets and products, then that's how you know they are full of shit.
If people are this sensitive to "tone" and "tact" about technical matters, then we (as a community I guess) have much deeper issues then the technical matters themselves.

I missed the part where he is wrong.

The fact Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Disney, Verizon, and others [1], etc are even allowed to exist in their current forms is absolutely bonkers to me. The outsized roles and influence they have on the economy and their individual markets just highlights that the government is incompetent or willfully corrupt.
[1]: Just a random selection of giants I can think of in a split second. But there are tons of other companies that dominate other less-sexy markets that should absolutely broken up.
You got this exactly backwards. Countries don't move, but NATO membership does. NATO has been expanding eastwards and Russia has been consistently & explicitly clear that is unacceptable.
But I agree, at some threshold it becomes an untenable position.
