Most of the programming problems have been solved before. Some of the solutions turned out to be solid programming patterns. Before you write a single line of code, you check if there is a "standard" way of solving the given problem. That way the code is more maintainable and more people will be able to work with your code.

Who have you agreed with? Software has to be predictable and easy to maintain. It is great if you can predict what the class does based on its name. It is also great if you know what you have to search for based on the name of pattern. Software is there not to express the creativity of a given programmer, but rather to meet the requirement of the technical tasks.

The less fuel is left, the lighter the drone.

And Dropbox is just an FTP server with SVN.

I've heard rumors that 25% of people have naturally higher amount of creatine and taking extra will not help

There was a research that concluded that after a month, there is no difference in creatine amount in blood if you've been loading or just taking 5g daily.

I was heavily spammed with vincerocollective.com watch ads up to the point when I just ordered one. I am not an expert, but the one I got does its job - it looks good.

I checked presentations on AR and every video was either low quality or I didn't even understand what it was about.

11 eur/month for everything unlimited here in Latvia. You just have to negotiate the price.

Does it have Auth and so much more Spring has to offer?

The company behind opera browser before opera sold the browser, sorry.

It's amazing how they entered the dense market of messaging apps and with superior UX, native clients and a bit of luck(brazil banning whatsapp for couple of days), they managed to get 100m MAU.

The company behind Opera browser owns a large ad network.

Have you tried using Telegram? What do you think about it? I don't care about all the security battle that is going on, but I feel that Telegram has more fluent UX.

I had this other idea that if you want to get somewhere(B) and you don't mind visiting other places if the flights are really cheap, you can get from A to B spending couple of days in C and maybe even in D so that A -> C -> D -> B. It is easy to pair these flights in Europe, so that every flight will be <2hours and will cost 10-25$. I think I even started coding this, but ended up having not enough time, and brute-forcing this problem is sort of hard. Maybe there already is a ready app for that.

Wake me up when Quake has CTF mode with grappling hook. Or maybe someone knows another game that has a CTF mode with grappling hook.

Signs are still pretty small. It's just a matter of taste I guess.

95% of the time I only read comments. People usually insert quotes from the article and discuss them right away. And it is much more valuable to read comments because there are a lot of smart people commenting who work in related fields.

Free download manager has worked flawlessly for years for me. Not sure how it works on Mac tho, but worth giving a try.

The amount of glue used to produce the wooden windows is so huge, that PVC windows are a much better choice both environmentally and for your health. There are different colored tapes that can be applied to make it look like wood. But they are still uglier.

I wonder if Stripe could now cover their operational costs in a form of a loan and process payments from now on. Would be a great PR move.

There was a discussion on the frontpage which can basically be summarized to "fuck classes, prototypes ftw!". It's like people haven't worked on big projects ever.

The programming discussions are really sad there.

Well, what if the CI is first building xcode project and then deploying it on device and then running tests? 10 minutes?

Just installed. Very little content, only like 5 articles from each newspaper. The Good/Bad/All bar steals a lot of usable space even tho it's probably going to be used only once to set up. All news are mostly political. I just hate so much that the headline is above the picture. Article frame should be split vertically, so that the picture is on the left, and the headline and summary on the right. The good/bad news algorithm is not very precise. You can also add discuss on reddit/hn button. Otherwise it's a pretty nice newsreader with 3.3MB installation size and it works very fast even on my old nexus5.

Will use it for couple more days.

I bought noise isolating headphones today to deal with office noise. I heard very good stuff about Audio Technica ATH-M50X and they are really good indeed. I can definitely recommend those.

For production or just for the fun of it?

Just let him uninstall it.
