pavanagrawal123··on New X-ray technique images soft-tissue tumors clearer than MRI
I'm not suggesting that the title be replaced with that, the current title is a blatant misrepresentation of the actual work.
pavanagrawal123··on New X-ray technique images soft-tissue tumors clearer than MRI
This title is a really bad representation of what the actual technology is. Instead, something closer to the actual research is: "X-ray elastography by visualizing propagating shear waves" which actually makes sense. Elastography in X-Ray is what is being described and not an imaging technique that is "clearer" than MRI...
pavanagrawal123··on Using Backblaze B2 and Cloudflare Workers for free image hosting
wasabi has it free and (afaik is cheaper than s3 and B2)
pavanagrawal123··on Slack was down
discord is also primary on GCP, afaik?
pavanagrawal123··on QuickBooks Cloud Hosting Firm iNSYNQ Hit in Ransomware Attack
Yep a more appropriate term would be "older".
pavanagrawal123··on QuickBooks Cloud Hosting Firm iNSYNQ Hit in Ransomware Attack
AFAIK, there are legacy versions of a "networked" quickbooks that can be hosted by third parties. Not really sure though. Some are doing app streaming of desktop quickbooks
pavanagrawal123··on QuickBooks Cloud Hosting Firm iNSYNQ Hit in Ransomware Attack
It's not Intuit that's down... Just a 3rd party hosting provider.
pavanagrawal123··on QuickBooks Cloud Hosting Firm iNSYNQ Hit in Ransomware Attack
that is different from this. The affected is a 3rd party hoster, not Intuit.
pavanagrawal123··on Security Update
Wouldn't this really just turn into a database as a service?
pavanagrawal123··on Remote-Powered Developer Tools
Of course! I love the work the VS team is doing inside of MS Would like to see things like this, remote code, etc. open sourced though :)

pavanagrawal123··on Docker Hub Hacked – 190k accounts, GitHub tokens revoked, builds disabled
I see. I originally thought this was the announcement, as that is what the post indicated.
pavanagrawal123··on Docker Hub Hacked – 190k accounts, GitHub tokens revoked, builds disabled
This raises the question of whether any high profile images were targetted by the infiltrators?
pavanagrawal123··on Docker Hub Hacked – 190k accounts, GitHub tokens revoked, builds disabled
I can't find an announcement of this anywhere besides HN? Will Docker be publishing info via official mediums?
pavanagrawal123··on VSCodium – An Open Source Visual Studio Code Without Trackers
Check out theia
pavanagrawal123··on Announcing unlimited free private repos
Yes, but I am hoping there will be a good free tier a la Gitlab CI
pavanagrawal123··on Announcing unlimited free private repos
Github actions exists, seems to be semi-CI
pavanagrawal123··on How to Version-Control Jupyter Notebooks
Interesting... I'm currently working on VSNotebooks (extension for VScode), which is a fork from Neuron... I would love to get some ideas that could help bring notebooks into the future, so thanks for your reply!
pavanagrawal123··on How to Version-Control Jupyter Notebooks
I have never programmed in R before, but why do you say that there is no need for cells?

I use cells/notebooks in Python, so I can keep my code organized and run computationally intensive things once... Is this something that is not needed in R?

pavanagrawal123··on The Rise of Microsoft Visual Studio Code
I recently contributed VSCodium windows support, and IMO it's not too big of a different from the binaries that MS provides. The only few differences are the telemetry endpoints that are in the normal binary, that can be disabled through the setting, and some other MS specific branding
pavanagrawal123··on The latest on Messages, Allo, Duo and Hangouts
Yep, that one!

Useful for people that are deaf and hard of hearing....

pavanagrawal123··on The latest on Messages, Allo, Duo and Hangouts
Yikes, did not know that.
pavanagrawal123··on The latest on Messages, Allo, Duo and Hangouts
Try https://preview.web.skype.com/

It is the universal Skype written in React (works natively on windows and electroned on other Desktop OSes)

pavanagrawal123··on The latest on Messages, Allo, Duo and Hangouts
I use skype right now to chat with some friends and it actually works really well for me. Cross platform, video calls, captioning now available is really awesome.
pavanagrawal123··on Neuron, a new VS Code extension for data science
Ahh I see... I've been looking at the PR and the implementation is really nice, I'm excited to see what it turns into :)
pavanagrawal123··on Neuron, a new VS Code extension for data science
oh interesting I did not know this... Is the code being integrated from Neuron?
pavanagrawal123··on Neuron, a new VS Code extension for data science
No problem, if anyone has any feedback, please leave it in the issues. I want to make this extension great, and I would love the community's input!
pavanagrawal123··on Neuron, a new VS Code extension for data science
that won't bring the rich support of extensions VSCode has.

VSCode's magic isn't just the monaco editor, IMO it's really the ecosystem and really nice Intellisense the other extensions provide.

though I do agree, this might be the better solution in the long run.

pavanagrawal123··on Neuron, a new VS Code extension for data science
this is a pretty interesting idea. I feel like this should just be implemented at a Jupyter (kernel) level and not in an editor though....
