I'm building http://shoptimate.com, http://exactsameroom.com and http://datafeedapi.com

The issue is if people that see that you're wrong, instead of correcting you, just downvote you. In my opinion, a wrong statement should not be buried with downvotes, it should stay at 1 point with a reply that corrects it and that get a lot of upvotes.
Strangely, the weird looking font (as if it was not antialiased) occur on the signup page using Chrome.
Other than that, it looks really good. Is it US/Canada only ?
(I don't know the answers to those questions)
For what I got, you use the shortener of each website (if available) to generate a short URL. Like use youtu.be for YouTube URLs and default to j.mp otherwise.
You claim on the front page to be a different kind of URL shortener and with my first try it seemed to be just as any other URL shortener. You give a long link, it makes a short link.
You should maybe put a concise text on the homepage about what it does and why it's better. Not in a super long blog post that starts by saying when people use URL shorteners
In Belgium there is http://www.betagroup.be
I imagine that someone could easily be packaging 10 Python apps or libraries. He can't be upgrading all that code to Python 3 as it is not always a trivial task and would require a lot of work and constant patching if the developing team keeps working with Python 2.X
But overall, I think this is a good way to push developers to upgrade or at least prepare more to move to Python 3.
PS3 in Europe as of August 17, 2010 : 16 million
XBox 360 in EMEA (including UK) as of November 13, 2009 : 10 million

I believe that overall, Xbox will be profitable for Microsoft, it gives them a foot in the user's living room and could be used to stream content onto their TV. But wildly profitable ? Probably not. You've got to be Nintendo to do that : sell your hardware with a good margin from day one and sell millions of every Mario/Zelda game that you release.
Nintendo is king because they build the hardware, sell the software and have the vision thanks to Miyamoto. It's really the Apple of video games.
Total Wii games sold as of June 1, 2010: 573 million
Total Xbox 360 games sold as of December 2009: 353.8 million
Total PlayStation 3 games sold as of June 30, 2010: 315.3 million
So yes, the Wii is beating the crap out of the Xbox. Americans don't realize that the Xbox only does well in the US. Europe and Asia are a tough market for Microsoft.
Maybe the motivation came from realizing that if they don't do this fast enough, Amazon could eat the revenue from Android in a lot of countries.
What I tell website developers is to add a login with Google, Yahoo, ... + OpenId (Google and Yahoo are openId providers) and each will redirect users to the correct OpenId endpoint (the one from yahoo, the one from google or your own).
And I don't say anything to non-technical users. They will see a "login with Yahoo" or "login with Facebook" or "login with Gmail" and they won't even ask me questions about OpenID. The ones that know what OpenId is and have their own custom URL will use it. Others will use the endpoints provided by Yahoo or Google and won't know what OpenID is and they don't need to.
I use my own page and use the OpenId delegate meta-tag to point to the domain that I also don't remember: http://openid.net/specs/openid-authentication-1_1.html#deleg...
This way you only have to remember your own URL like: http://openid.mydomain.com and the password that you've chosen.
I can't imagine giving out a login/password that is not restricted to just viewing my banking info. It seems to me that they are asking for full access to your bank account just to retrieve your data.
Grooveshark doesn't have audio ads, no limit (that I know of) but does not seem to have a mobile app. What makes people pay for Spotify's service compared to what Grooveshark has to offer ?
As another European, I would also love a European counterpart. But to me, applying to YC is not really about the money, it's about the advices, the networking and the press coverage that is hard to get when bootstrapping.
They don't provide much support for the n900 users which was supposed to be a developer's phone but said "Maemo is dead, we're moving on to Meego". Some of those users are moving away to Android and it won't be easy to win them back.
Nokia can't wait an extra 3-4 years, they've already lost 2-3 years.
The list is really nice, I'm not sure if people would be willing to pay for this though.
There is a google.ca, google.fr, google.co.jp, google.de, but there is only one facebook.com
So yes, the whole of Facebook will be used more than Google by just the Americans. Is it such a big deal ?
