partloyaldemon··on Cloudflare Quick Tunnels
Tailscale is one of the most profoundly useful technologies I’ve ever used as small business person. It’s also one I would have never thought to invent despite feeling its lack daily.

partloyaldemon··on U.S. Debt Hits $40T as America's Borrowing Binge Continues
You’re the only one in the thread that gets any of this right. But: Monetizing the debt is replacing one asset (treasuries eg) that pays interest with a nominally equal asset that doesn’t (US dollar). How does that spur inflation? It’s a reduction in income over time. How does paying back our debt IN FULL hurt our credit worthiness?

"except now with the PR blitz from Sundar Pichai on down"

I definitely read this first pass and thought 'damn the CEO is hitting its own quantum supercomputer with bug reports'. that's cold. It just came out.

partloyaldemon··on FTX held less than $1B in liquid assets against $9B in liabilities
I'd recommend a PNC checking account. Solves a lot of issues related to storing value without counterparty risk.

Not worthless! Just, you know, worthless right now.

partloyaldemon··on Notice of termination of Twitter merger agreement
Chancery courts will compel performance of this transaction absent a showing of an material adverse advent. Very, very high bar. The buyer is a highly sophisticated investor and the grounds that he is alleging form the basis of the breach of contract were and are public information that has not materially changed nor been alleged to have materially changed since the signing of the merger agreement. Moreover, and most critically, it is not being alleged that spam accounts have any substantial impact on the earnings of Twitter. Thus, the courts will obligate Musk to buy the business as he agreed to in April.
