Article author here - I wrote this after realising that buzz words have entered our industry again in the form of the JAM stack terminology. Hence I took an approach of actually what is going on under the hood.
But for a truly ground-breaking product (read: to beat Amazon) Flipkart needs to either 1. make it cheaper or 2. make it better.
Completely wireless and uses a Heroku backend to get the tweets from the Twitter API. Built on the Arduino platform and parts from Sparkfun.
I have open-sourced all the code for the Arduino as well as the Node.js application on the link in the video info.

Motivates me to stop being intimidated by the difficulty of implementation, and concentrate on the power of the idea.
This solves it. Would love to see an article on the backstory of how the idea struck you.
Node.js is nothing different, it has its pros and cons. You simply cannot tag it as 'good' or 'bad'. You are smart if you use it where it suits you. You are silly if you just try to trash it.
I spoke to my dad regarding this hub-hub on piracy vs. freedom. His thinking is very similar to the publishing industry that pirating something is simply illegal, and that's that.
I lost out in the discussion, because I wasn't able to provide good points on the aspect of freedom, and that actually it is not piracy, but just sharing, and it actually benefits the industry, not ruin it.
This article just made my job easier. It mentions all the important points.
What I am dreaming of is something like Google bot with the Hacker News links as the seed to start indexing... Also displaying the results with snippets and rating the results.
What say?
