pampas··on SvelteKit 3
I don't think that's true anymore. I've seen a few benchmarks where svelte results in less tokens than React frameworks to complete the task. There was a time when LLMs were awful at svelte (especially v5) due to stale knowledge but that's not the case today. The knowledge cutoff isn't so bad and LLMs are much better at copying the patterns in your own codebase rather than relying on baked in knowledge.

Edit: This is the benchmark. But if you suspect it's wrong it's always fun to run your own evals. https://martinalderson.com/posts/which-web-frameworks-are-mo...

I've had no problem using them in 2.x
pampas··on GPT 6.1 Sol: Near-Astra intelligence for a fifth of the price
That's my experience too. GPT-6 Sol tends to rabbit hole and over engineer things.
pampas··on Does Georgism work? Five years later
Not necessarily. It can be arranged so for owners with no income the tax accrues to the land and no cashflow is necessary until sale.
pampas··on Does Georgism work? Five years later
The fact that economically right wing economists like Milton Friedman supported LVT is a great argument against landlord type labelling LVT as far-left and attempting to push the idea outside the Overton window. I think the only valid argument against is it is that a significant LVT would punish those who've worked for their wealth as they've already paid significant income tax. But there are plenty of ways to introduce it gradually. Other arguments boil down to vested interests when I dig into it.
pampas··on Google’s Project Suncatcher to put ML infrastructure in space
It's a bit like the hyperloop. They know it's not practical but having the idea out there makes money. There will be some niche demand for military use though.
pampas··on Toyota is taking the Corolla electric
It's not just that. EV charging and solar resources have improved while fossil fuels have become more expensive. The maths is very regional. Some countries are better at producing electricity or oil than others.
pampas··on Meta VR Glasses
You should look up the story behind Pokemon Go.
pampas··on Grok 4.7
I have no idea how good it is at coding but it seems to be good at omniscient tasks like solving a puzzle game I made [1]. It's a bit of a silly eval but I wonder if strong recall makes it good for knowledge tasks like legal work.

pampas··on Grok 4.7
I've put Grok 4.7 on the Redactle LLM benchmarks. It's a bit of a silly eval since it's a puzzle game but it tests omniscience really well.

Grok 4.7 is near the top of the board. A significant improvement over Grok 4.6 but still not as good as Gemini 3.8 Flash which is very cheap and fast too.

pampas··on Jev is an honest game changer
It might be good at routing fixes to the most appropriate LLM.
pampas··on Jev is an honest game changer
I used Jev to make my AI game 6x faster and 8.7x cheaper.
pampas··on Claude Code now reads AGENTS.md if there is no Claude.md
Everyone does. But I think you're missing the point. It's effectively a billboard in the root of your repo.

Sent from my iPhone.

pampas··on Claude Code now reads AGENTS.md if there is no Claude.md
When Jesus' mother notices that the CLAUDE.md (Ancient Greek: Κλαύδιος ) file is missing from her favourite open source project, Jesus delivers a sign of his divinity by turning Claude's CLAUDE.md search path into AGENTS.md at her request.

I wonder if Anthropic's vending machine only serves customers wearing a Claude™ branded hat.
pampas··on Astra for Law
Judges don't care if people have to wait months. What does it cost them?
pampas··on Astra for Law
I wonder how many parties would prefer an AI judge over delayed justice.
pampas··on Astra for Law
You've never heard the phrase "justice delayed is justice denied"?

pampas··on Show HN: Pelican-bicycle alternatives
In my experience LLMs have become generally a lot more useful if you need to create something like a company logo or even 3d scenes.
pampas··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026)
But is that before or after fees? Does each fund manager take more or less than the cow's dollar equivalent in pasture?
pampas··on Why is Google still serving dodgy ads?
Yes, Confiant
pampas··on Why is Google still serving dodgy ads?
Google as just as scammy as the scammers. For many years they manipulated auctions to capture more market share.
pampas··on Why is Google still serving dodgy ads?
As a publisher it really sucks. The DSPs must know these ads are shit. It would be trivial to filter them with a bit of AI.

I've asked my Google partnered SSP to disallow ethically bankrupt ads like gambling, alcohol etc. They say "we've asked the partners to block those categories"... and then it just keeps happening. They're either unable or unwilling to help. I had to take ads down for several days at my own expense due to rogue ads. The ads are now in safe frames which doesn't pay quite as well but I'm okay with it.

pampas··on Why is Google still serving dodgy ads?
This. When it's a person the original quote applies. But big companies have millions of data points on everything and are competent in areas they care about like their own profit. So you can assume it's not ignorance. They don't care if a publisher has to spend loads of time resolving issues rogue ads and malvertising because it doesn't affect them and the end user just blames the publisher.
pampas··on Why is Google still serving dodgy ads?
All the friction goes down to the publishers fighting malvertising.
pampas··on From Git to Fossil (2025)
Suppose a secret like some personally identifying information was recently leaked into the main branch. You are legally required to scrub it. How do you fix it?

Ideally a repo needs to reflect the state of every event that happened. Practically there are edge cases when it's just best to rewrite history.

pampas··on I added a non-wi-fi Mitsubishi AC to Home Assistant
Research it with an LLM. I've ordered all the stuff for Panasonic and Daikin after a deep planning session. It told me what connectors I need that Panasonic needs a level shifter. Both brands have open source libraries for the internal protocols and wiring. I wanted Zigbee so the ESP32 C6 was the way to go. The Panasonic units I have already have Wifi but most companies suck at this kind of thing. I couldn't get the Panasonic Wifi to pair with my router. Daikin also sell Wifi modules and people don't to like them.
pampas··on LG denies TV spying claims, says tracking and snooping concerns 'not true'
Remember that time when NSA director James Clapper reassured us they're not the baddies.

"Does the NSA collect any type of data at all on millions or hundreds of millions of Americans?"

"No, sir."
