Dirty hack, like bumblebee? Well since driver 440.44 this kind of thing is incooperated into the nvidia driver itself. You can use it on demand. It idles at around 1w and is used for some physics and other decoding capabilities if i recall correctly. If you want to run a game or an app using nvidia you prepend it with an environment variable, otherwise intel gfx is used. It's not dirty, and works quite well imho... To make it more convenient:there are even extensions for gnome to say use nvidia with this and that app... Sure, to have the nvidia card kick in triggered by the OS somehow when really needed would be the non-plus ultra, but come on, this is science fiction :D
Yes it can do full hd, ever since at least rPi3. Problem here is chromium. Use omxplayer and the rPi4 will do 4k in full glory. I think you can even use omxplayer with youtube somehow. Chromium doesn't even do hardware decoding on x86 desktops, you just don't notice it, because the cpu's are fast enough to do it nowadays.
I used to love the shit out of Debian., but nowadays, that I am really startled and shocked what it had become.
Try to get nvidia graphics running on an optimus based laptop, and you will find yourself in a midst of an multiple hour long try and error prone session of head-shaking and cursing. Graphics installer -> no touchpad?!?!? Blueutooth A2DP -> fix it by hand..... This list goes on and on and on...
I call bullshit omn that map. The water in the us tastes like cholrine and is better rated than the one in germany and bosnia, which both don't have that. Also the water is not adviced to be drank from tap in portugal where i was recently, and it is rated with 80?!?!?
You sure ? I have the XPS 15 7590 with OLED 4k. You can snap your fingers and watch the battery drain... Sure it looks crisp and all, but it comes for a heavy price.
I just downloaded a whole album, 1h:09m long via Youtube-Notube->m4a. Uploaded the m4a via https://stefano.brilli.me/webminidisc/. Works perfectly... Thanks again
LOVE IT! Thanks a bunch mate. Works like a charm. Used: https://stefano.brilli.me/webminidisc/
Cannot compile it, cause npm is fucked and and my nodejs fu is meh....
In the past, duplicity would not save dot files or dot directories, e.g. .config/, .emacs, .local/, so many settings would be lost or not saved. No idea if they addressed it meanwhile, but back then it was a show stopper for me. Lost some of my steam savegames :-p
I felt the same in the beginning after the switch from Unity to Gnome. Nowadays when using Unity or Plasma, I can stand the missing of the rich extensions Gnome-Shell offers.
I took this dependency list from Arch for guile 2.2: gc, gmp, libffi, libltdl (libtool),libunistring, ncurses, texinfo
Maybe the number has increased meanwhile.
Lua just has readline as dependency. Not sure about guiles must have, but I guess this list could be narrowwed down by diabling features.
