orliesaurus··on Meta Uses A.I. Data Centers to Avoid Billions in Federal Taxes
It's crazy that some of these facts incentives for smaller businesses are abused by multinational conglomerates. I think the laws should set some sort of limits on who can take the tax breaks, like hello?! This isn't about not paying taxes through some weird schemes. This is literally abusing the system to the next level in my opinion

Unusable website on Android running Chrome latest (can't scroll)
orliesaurus··on Unreal Agent
I guess? but we are talking Game engine vs AI harness...
orliesaurus··on Unreal Agent
But I don't think you can trademark a generic word like Unreal...
orliesaurus··on Unreal Agent
Why don't you explain what's different?
orliesaurus··on Show HN: Drop – A rootless Linux sandbox with gVisor support
So this seems to be useful to me, when you run drop run it starts a child process and places it into a Linux namespace...it gives the process a separate identity and limited privileges so itt can appear to be root inside the sandbox without being root on the host. It also gives it a separate view of the filesystem and all processes inside see their own process tree rather than all host processes. same for network connections.

BUT IT DOESNT WORK ON MAC OS :( bummer (it's Linux-specific)

Guess i'll test it on a VPS

Thank you!

Is there anything we can do? I'm on pixel phone and I love the hardware - very neutral on the software tbh

If you turn the WiFi/mobile off with airplane mode (and ensure wifi is off) this should go away right?
orliesaurus··on Claude Code now reads AGENTS.md if there is no Claude.md
finally! Now this might sound sorta off-topic but i really wonder how people feel about skills.md, skill.md, skills.sh domains...

the fact that they're owned by different companies (ok vercel is a little less random) still leaves me with a sour taste in my mouth when thinking about the fact that they should all point to 1 place about how to create and find skills for ai agents?!

orliesaurus··on Neovim have a ~$800k Bitcoin donation sitting untouched since 2023
Eventually with quantum computing we will be able to recover those wallets right? (Technically)
orliesaurus··on Training a 4B model to produce 81% faster query plans than Postgres
I am still struggling to understand a use-case for Jev. Isn't what was explained in this article a classification problem? I.e. find and aggregate data?

orliesaurus··on Show HN: ResolveHQ – A Helpdesk Built on Cloudflare Workers, D1, R2 and Queues

orliesaurus··on Google DeepMind Releases AlphaGenome Atlas
This is exactly what I meant!
orliesaurus··on Google DeepMind Releases AlphaGenome Atlas
i like this way of thinking ;)
orliesaurus··on Google DeepMind Releases AlphaGenome Atlas
the Google DeepMind PR team can't catch a break, shame it makes no sense to me - if someone's in the field maybe they could explain to the rest of us if this is a big deal, just a PR move, or nah?
orliesaurus··on Git Submodules as a Package Manager
I just have a feeling the developer-experience wouldn't be the same - but that's just a temporary issue perhaps?
orliesaurus··on Portal by Spotify cut my Claude Code token usage by 90%
glad im not the only one that enabled screen reader mode to scan the article for some goodies
orliesaurus··on GPT-6 Astra
Fair point - hopefully you're wrong though ;)
orliesaurus··on Qwen 3.8 27B available on Cerebras at 1500 tokens/s
Qwen 3.8 27B is an exceptional model for coding and ranks as one of the best local models for coding....BUT in my head I am confused why a company that's IPO'd doesn't invest in RL'd super specialized, super-damn-fast models for very specific tasks - instead of giving us the OSS GPT model from what feels like 200 years ago

I wonder if this is going to be one of those days where you'll be like: Oh yeah I remember where I was when the first version of AGI launched
