If your data gets stolen and your website defaced what's the use of immutability? I mean you can always run a diff tool against the current code on the server with the code you have on your repo right?
p.s I really enjoyed the choice of music on that video.
For instance, something that really gets on my nerves is when I search for something on amazon and when I am reading a blog post about something completely unrelated to my amazon search, I see an advert related to my search.
This is just really annoying, its not like I want to hide the fact I am looking for a new TV its just that its really annoying and its an invasion of my privacy. Its just like having a helpful but nosy neighbor who gets the mail for you.
Also, just like you said, if someone has something to hide they will find alternatives to hide it, but why inconvenience us, the law abiding citizens, why invade whats our own business?
I have seen some times load up 5-6 MB files when a 100-200kb image would have done the job.
If us developers could have an easy way to do this, I think it would really make the internet a lot faster.

"awesome WHAT_I_NEED"
find the awesome git repo and follow the links,
if I find anything interesting I search for the link on hn and reddit and try to see if there are any discussions based on the link.
profit??
And the funniest thing here is people should be celebrating this win becuase the way I see it, this is a win for democracy. The DNC took away the win from someone who the people wanted, they worked against the people and put someone up who the people did not trust or agree with. And at the end of the day the person the people trusted more won.
I might not agree with trump on everything especially his racist comments, but I do agree with an underdog powered by the people.
Southpark did an amazing episode on this exact issue once. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douche_and_Turd )
Fantastic laptop with some amazing specs. The price was just right. https://www.asus.com/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-G501VW/
The only problem I have with it is the battery life. I am using this for around 5 months now, and the battery life when running Ubuntu is 2-3 hours only. I installed ubuntu on the ssd and windows on the hdd.
I can play almost any game on this one (of course not many on ultra).
And to make matters even worse imagine installing drivers for an os not supported by the manufacturer.
2.run a JS CPU profile.
3. :)
I guess, may be your customer has the same problem.
BUT! the point here is the op claims this is a shady practice to provide https to their paying customers.
A shady practice is if they take your personal information and sell it to another without telling you. Shady is when companies lie to their customers.
And this situation is not.
I mean I think its too much to ask for a tool to be able to block everything right without a little human assistance.
Do take a look at the links posted in the parent comment, you will actually find some really interesting conversations.
When I began programming I had this exact question myself, and deep down the actual question was "what language is the easiest to learn and is there a language that will not make me quit because its too frustrating?".
I think becoming a programmer means you have to be able to handle a lot of disappointment, and you should be able to deal with the fact that you have to constantly learn (you asking this question on HN means you are going on the right path, it means have that explorer inside you). You will have to deal with frustrations and to do something over and over again until you have perfected it. (this is why I think a lot of us see programming as an art)
So learn any programming language, build the smallest thing you can imagine, start with a hello world, make a calculator, make a text based game, etc etc and keep going until you are fed up of programming and want to take up farming instead.
And one more thing, please don't think memorizing syntax is going to make you a great programmer, great programmers program, they make things and they make more things. Make things and never stop.
All the best.

I prefer v2ec
selecting with v helps me avoid making mistakes. If you are developing a web app, restrict JS to the client side only, get something like react to do it.
On the server side I stick with Go(lang). This separation helps me and my team think of these two separate problems, well.. separately. Isomorphic this isomorphic that is when things start to go all in sane.
tldr; JS for front-end. Go for back-end.
I used chrome for a long time, and I am now starting to slowly move back to firefox. One complain I now have about FF is it feels a bit sluggish compared to chrome when rendering web pages. The nightly build is however a lot better. (I am using ubuntu btw).
---------edit-----------------
Another thing I wish ff works on is screen real-estate.
