Just FYI this is illegal in many areas.

The worm at the core.
omio··on Is Stupidity Expanding? Some Hypotheses
Fear is a big one. Getting you in these emotional states makes it easier to influence your way of thinking.
omio··on Rediscovering CardDAV
I remember years ago getting mysql, php, nginx, dovecot, postfix and horde to work together to get ActiveSync to my android. Took a long time and lots of reading but in the end it felt great. Then a week later a horde update broke it.

In hindsight it's probably better to spend the money on a hosted solution.

omio··on War and drugs: Together since forever
Oh yea. Mostly weed and some opium. In my company over 50% of us smoked weed.
omio··on War and drugs: Together since forever
Just an anecdote of mine. I'm sure there was plenty of drug use in other provinces but my personal experience was in the Helmand. I try not to talk about other places and units I don't have experience in.
omio··on War and drugs: Together since forever
Drug use by Marines, Taliban and Afghan police/army during the Helmand province campaign needs its own study and book.
omio··on Stealing the Enemy's Urban Advantage: The Battle of Sadr City
A lot of this was used in Ramadi the year before.

omio··on Reddit partial outage
Wow I didn't know it turned out so bad. Even then reddit isn't much better either. Damn the internet has turned into a cesspool or maybe I don't remember it was a cesspool 20 years ago too.

omio··on Did Bitcoin just prove it can't scale?
Like all tech it's a double edged sword.
omio··on Did Bitcoin just prove it can't scale?
That wouldn't work because mining blocks also validates transactions.
omio··on Bitcoin Mining Now Consuming More Electricity Than Many Countries
The blockchain contains the data of billions of dollars of transactions. I would say that is very far from meaningless.
omio··on The Bitcoin bubble – Greater fool theory
It can be done easily. I would say it will be done in the future by governments and forced on us. The amount of control a government would have with a forced cryptocurrency is the only problem I see.
omio··on The Bitcoin bubble – Greater fool theory
Bitcoin may be a finite supply but cryptocurrencies in general are infinite. So can you really say it is a fixed monetary system?
omio··on The Bitcoin bubble – Greater fool theory
I think bitcoin and others are way beyond being a currency or commodity. We should think of it as an entirely new kind of asset that needs new definitions and theories. People are trying to fit this new tech in their old definitions or theories and it's not working.
omio··on Bitcoin Futures Could Open the Floodgates for Institutional Investors
I'm sure you rely on the government to keep your fortune safe.
omio··on Bitcoin Futures Could Open the Floodgates for Institutional Investors
The universe is a bubble!
omio··on Kovri – A secure, private, untraceable C++ implementation of the I2P network
With the recent bust of AlphaBay we know bitcoin mixers are vulnerable. It looks like Monero will take over as the favorite cryptocurrency of new markets especially with I2P integration.
omio··on Kovri – A secure, private, untraceable C++ implementation of the I2P network
I believe it is forked from i2pd.
omio··on Daimler Uses Blockchain to Issue Bonds
I would say the problem they are trying to solve is security settlement between different institutions. I guess right now each institution has their own database of who owns what and it's difficult to transfer ownership between them.

What if there was one or many massive global shared ledgers all these institutions ran nodes for? You could transfer ownership of a security between someone in China and Europe instantly.

omio··on Daimler Uses Blockchain to Issue Bonds
Is this what they are going to use?
