olouv··on Ask HN: Do you use N + Enter to access Hacker News?
Cmd-L + n + enter is the Chrome winning combo for me.
olouv··on A Race to Save the Orange by Altering Its DNA
That's clearly wrong. You just have to actually read studies to find clear warnings about the toxicity of GMO. http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0278691512...
olouv··on [dead]
Confirmed, I had to drop the default "tailored trends" setting & switch back to United States trends to get back #snowden in the list.
olouv··on How FPGAs work, and why you'll buy one
You can have a small FPGA test board here http://be.eurocircuits.com/shop/offtheshelf/product.aspx?&an... for 60€. The tutorials (non-free) can be found there http://www.elektor.com/magazines/2012/december/taming-the-be...
olouv··on Everything you need to understand to start with AngularJS
Too bad it's relying on (blurry) snapshots vs. https://code.google.com/p/google-code-prettify
olouv··on Nginx-1.4.0 stable version has been released
This was really helpful to me: https://github.com/h5bp/server-configs/tree/master/nginx
olouv··on Code Organization in Large AngularJS and JavaScript Applications
Model files in angularJS are often basic wrappers around either $ressource or $http. From that you can add default values, collection-like functions, etc.
olouv··on Very Short Reply Expected
"tout courte réponse" is not correct french, "very short reply expected" would translate to "très courte réponse attendue", but lucky you, it starts with the same letter. "toute courte réponse" would be roughly acceptable, but more familiar language.

olouv··on AngularStrap - Bootstrap directives for AngularJS
Have you checked out Sublime Text 2? Building an IDE is a tremendous amount of work, good luck!
olouv··on AngularStrap - Bootstrap directives for AngularJS
I don't think it has to be angular-this vs angular-that.

Having a vibrant ecosystem is what matters.

olouv··on AngularStrap - Bootstrap directives for AngularJS
angular already ships with external files that extends the core (ie. angular-resource or angular-cookie) so I guess it could be done.

And I'm not sure you need jQuery at all (angular ships with jQLite) so you may be able to use some of the core bootstrap plugins without adding jQuery (untested).

Also with CDN (Google, cdnjs) for common libs, I think it is less an issue today (at least on desktop).

olouv··on AngularStrap - Bootstrap directives for AngularJS
indeed, tags were attributes. Thanks! https://github.com/mgcrea/angular-strap/commit/09985e6166704...
olouv··on Add Tabs and features to OSX Finder (for free)
Anyone can point out the differences between this and TotalFinder from BinaryAge (apart being free)?
olouv··on Retina performance issues since 10.8.2 update
Performance has been divided by 5 since latest EFI update. Seems like CPU/GPU are being heavily throttled. SMC reset fixes it.
olouv··on Go native, HTML5 is going to lag for a while
The author is wrong, you can build up a HTML5 app and use everything that a native app does (using PhoneGap/Cordova & custom native bridges), so that is not the point at all in the HTML5 vs. native debate.

To me the real issue is will Apple & Google keep holding their browser perf because hybrid mobile dev could hurt their profit & often breaks UI guidelines.

olouv··on Goldman Sachs: GS Collections source code released
109 days later, a PR move regarding the german documentary about the bank? (cf. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/vivian-norris-de-montaigu/the-...)
olouv··on How a Tick Bite Made Me Allergic to Meat
I would not call your ammonia-treated pink-slime mixed from hundred cows actual "meat". you should try some real food, even organic maybe.
