Another vote for Milanote here ;)
oliebol··on Show HN: Milanote – A notes app for creative work
Not in terms of features, but this article might give you some idea of what we're trying to do differently to Evernote: https://medium.com/milanote/why-using-evernote-is-making-you...

Unfortunately not—it's not really a design tool per-se, it's more of a visual workspace for combining images and text :)

Glad you like it so far!

In terms of a roadmap, we've got pretty big plans—here are some things (including an API/integrations) that people have requested: http://www.milanote.com/poll. But obviously there are lots of things we're planning to build which aren't on that list :)

I actually totally agree and we're looking at tweaking our pricing options for Milanote to reflect this idea :)

Not sure if this is the page you're talking about, but here's some basic info about privacy etc: http://help.milanote.com/frequently-asked-questions/how-safe...

We're also looking at some other pricing options at the moment to make it a bit friendlier for personal use ... stay tuned :)

Yep our Firefox support is definitely not perfect, give it a try in Chrome—should be much smoother :)

Thanks! We're definitely trying to keep it pretty simple—Spacedeck looks cool too :)
oliebol··on Atlassian acquires Trello for $425M
If I was the Atlassian CEO reading this thread, I'd be really worried. There are a lot of comments from developers with zero faith in Atlassian's ability to create (or even preserve) a great product.
oliebol··on Renewing Medium’s focus
People who say Medium is "just a blogging platform" obviously haven't written many blog posts. Writing a post is easy. The interface to do that is easy. Distribution is hard - that's the bit Medium solves in a revolutionary way: getting people to read your stuff.
oliebol··on Bashers and Swoopers – How the tools we use for writing are letting us down
I think the fundamental issue is that humans are spatial thinkers - i.e. we think about things in 2 or 3 dimensions, not just one. There's something about being able to see everything mapped out in front of you (with post-its or similar) that just works better.

So while eventually every story becomes linear, the thinking required to get there works best with more dimensions.

Watching this felt like watching a funeral where the commentary was the eulogy.
