I'm not very good at Hacker News. I always get downvoted. This is my second account here. My old account isn't allowed to post anymore: https://news.ycombinator.com/user?id=njn

What's my topcolor? b0a0d0, just like blasdel.

of··on To Be
That's a good idea. Why would someone downvote this?
of··on To Be
to.be has been around since 2012 / 2013. I'm glad you think it's cool.
of··on Einstein: The Negro Question (1946)
That's different, though. Michael Brown was not an "efficient killing machine" who signed up for the marines at age 17.
of··on Einstein: The Negro Question (1946)
This is a good point - why has everyone downvoted it?

What is that browser called?
of··on ASCII Cam
Reminds me of HasciiCam from 2000: http://ascii.dyne.org/
of··on Youtube-dl
It would be nice if it supported Netflix. There's some difficulties with this, but a discussion about it here: https://github.com/rg3/youtube-dl/issues/1564
of··on Prospector: Python Static Analysis for Humans
I haven't tried PyLint -- I use flake8 for static Python analysis: https://pypi.python.org/pypi/flake8

Actually, I just thought this was a cool blog that I hadn't heard of before (with emacs-style CSS), and I thought people might be interested.

I would "argue" that fact, given the chance.
of··on Introducing a more powerful Dropbox Pro
I guess I just don't like the name "Dropbox", haha.
of··on GNU LibreJS
Lots of websites I use work fine with LibreJS:

- Craigslist - Hacker News - Duck Duck Go

... Please help us make this list longer :`p

of··on Introducing a more powerful Dropbox Pro
Whoever downvoted my previous comment, can you explain to me why you care about Dropbox Pro?
of··on GNU LibreJS
I'm one of the maintainers for LibreJS, and we are discussing the issue of triviality right now. If you have any input, don't hesitate to send a message to the mailing list (help-librejs@gnu.org) -- https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/help-librejs
of··on Introducing a more powerful Dropbox Pro
lol who cares?
of··on Exploring No Man’s Sky, A Computer Game Forged by Algorithms
It's very strange, and a little disheartening. Noctis is the best!

Our office is in Seattle, WA - South Lake Union.

Right now we're a small startup with around 5-6 employees.

of··on To a Future Woman In Tech
Dismissing these discussions and ignoring your male privilege actually creates more distance between genders. If we ignore it things will continue idly on their course. Everyone needs to talk about it for any sort of fundamental change.
of··on To a Future Woman In Tech
Even if the problem isn't gendered, like the one you pointed out, it becomes gendered when encountered by a woman because of male privilege.
of··on To a Future Woman In Tech
Men already have rights...

"To be white, or straight, or male, or middle class is to be simultaneously ubiquitious and invisible. You’re everywhere you look, you’re the standard against which everyone else is measured. You’re like water, like air. People will tell you they went to see a “woman doctor” or they will say they went to see “the doctor.” People will tell you they have a “gay colleague” or they’ll tell you about a colleague. A white person will be happy to tell you about a “Black friend,” but when that same person simply mentions a “friend,” everyone will assume the person is white. Any college course that doesn’t have the word “woman” or “gay” or “minority” in its title is a course about men, heterosexuals, and white people. But we call those courses “literature,” “history” or “political science.”" -- Michael S. Kimmel, in the introduction to the book, “Privilege: A Reader”

Cool I've been using http://steep.it/ but this is more flexible
of··on SSH client in Google Chrome
I usually have multiple PuTTY windows open to a couple different servers. I wish it was easier to have multiple SSH sessions going with this extension.
of··on World.db - A Free Open World Database and Schema
Shouldn't there be location info for each city? A long/lat field?
of··on App-UI
It's cool to see another project on the same level of abstraction as Sencha Touch (http://www.sencha.com/products/touch/)
