That’s a wreckless combination the world isn’t ready for.
Then I found ruby and loved how simple it was to not worry about a type system.
Then I found out how infuriating it was to not have types.
Now I’m older and appreciate having types.
Cool story, bro.
Crystal looks cool!
- there is a “Contact” link floating at the top of the page off centered that opens Mail. Maybe link it to your Olark integration.
- 14 day money back guarantee runs over the text underneath it.
:/
I was going to circle back around afterwards and find a good theme/template.
I did notice tables went off the side of the screen on iOS.
Looks swanky otherwise! I’ll see give it a swing!
Which is funny to me that a congressman (it was a man, I didn’t catch his name) would push for that since they obviously aren’t interested in protecting citizens data with laws or regulations.
I assume it probably wouldnt work for Sloth Fratelli.
This is a little fucked up:
You go through their rating game where you can rate people 1 to 5 stars.
(Optional): You rate everyone you find attractive five stars no matter how attractive because you’re going to need a way to differentiate later...
Go through and rate a bunch of ugly people four stars. A shit load.
When you get rated four stars or higher you get a notification. Those people usually come back and rate you. Hopefully four stars or higher.
So now you’ve crowd sourced ugly people to say you’re good looking but that ugly person is never going to get the feature turned on for them because nobody else is saying they’re good looking.
Now you show up to the hottest people and the hottest people show up to you.
I’ve done this a few times over the years with burner accounts to test it and new accounts just because I canceled an old one.
It takes a few hours of rating unattractive people. I usually just did it flipping through on the toilet for about a week.
If you don’t care about keeping track of the five star people you can just write a script to four or five star people at random And let it run overnight.
5 miles in LA can be a long drive. So I wrote a chrome plugin to add additional drop down options of 0.1, 0.5 and 1 mile. I was surprised to see it work.
It was awesome.
There is also a hack to get the infamous “top X% of hottest people” feature unlocked... :)
Yeah, Oauth and events is the only thing keeping me on FB. Although, I believe they opened up their event system to non-fb users, probably so they could build shadow profiles.
I was thinking of having it run as a cron on my laptop. Log in via chromedriver, accept a random couple of suggested friends. Download some random images and upload it tagging myself. Grab some random comments off twitter and post it as my own. Like random posts. Remove a few real friends. Repeat.
Maybe even Facebook Munging as a Service. :D
That blew off during a hurricane the same year :)
We ended up putting the dishes on longer poles. :)
I’m not familiar beyond the movie tropes (that I now know are misrepresentations).
Are there complications or other serious things that it can lead to?
Are people with narcolepsy generally deep sleepers?
I originally started doing it to try to take my mind off the problem to not overthink it. But then I’d find that I’d slept for an hour or so. Thus the timer.
I had just joined a “subscription based social site” as a backend developer. I think it was PHP 4 and MySQL 3 at the time.
Someone had realized that it would be great to have database “migrations” in code instead of using phpMyAdmin to modify tables.
Thumbs up, forward thinker!
So there was an ONE BIG migrations.php file that had our DDL in it with if statements around each one to see if it had already been run.
The statements didn’t have a version number or anything super simple and trivial. It was a combination of all the worst ways you could figure out if a column had been added to a table in MySQL.
When code was deployed, someone would visit http://example.com/migrations.php real quick to migrate the site.
Oh man, classic.
I have the opposite problem, I can just fall asleep pretty much anywhere and in any position. Just had a triple espresso or four cold brews, no problem.
I frequently take “desk naps” throughout the day. I’ll set a timer for 15 minutes and lay my head down on my wrist rest. I fall asleep in less than a minute.
Does anyone know if there is a name for that? I generally refer to it as controllable narcolepsy or “luck”.
You don’t need school if you don’t need a degree for your job.
Learning is my all time hands-down favorite hobby. If you put in the work you can learn all the things you learn in a CS degree on your own and in a much shorter time.
The problem is getting good text books since they’re expensive (when I was in school you couldnt google everything).
I realized I could social engineer my way to free books by appropriating college letterhead, pretending to be a professor, and writing to publishers asking for evaluation copies of books I wanted to read.
