Don't have a production app, but i am developing a mobile app for a existing service. The app is very simple at the moment. App loads remote data and uses aysnc storage as well. I don't have Android exp except for tutorials. Getting to understand the React Native framework took some time but then its very straight forward easy process(Just Android app, have not tried out iOS). I do have good React exp which helped. For simple app it seems a very good solution.
The last 2 OS X upgrades has made my laptop lag too much. I now do more setup on OSX then Ubuntu. Ubuntu on the same laptop runs so much better. Only issue i have is the touchpad. Could not make it behave the same as in OSX.
come on dude don't keep on changing criteria. Anyway "Not really, as that's not how they roll" this does not hold good. They are trying to get a bigger market share in India. Hence they are trying to selling refurbished mobiles. Which would be cheaper compared to brand new. Emphasis on it been "cheap". They already do that selling gen old mobiles.
Installment plans are recent trend isn't it. I see previously it was 2 year contracts for 199 etc. emi are common in India as well. Apple could have done the same in India.
Sure. People living there would be affected. But i don't know common those practices are. Might be just North India. I am from South. There are many difference between North and South states and within Southern states and districts.
India is huge and varied. If you saw corpe on a river does not mean its followed everywhere. The bodies are cremated and the ashes are floated on rivers. Outside the cities/towns people might still be fetching water from wells. But the ground water level has depleted as well.
"necessarily to tinker" - i suppose is done by tech guys. Normal people would use it as it is. There are so many low-end to high-end Android mobiles sold in India. Most of them don't tinker at all. As long as it does the basic call/browsing/videos/music its fine.
free? Does that happen only in USA? Apple care in India quoted me around 400 dollars for replacement with 6 months warranty. No way i am buying second hand Apple hardware in India if service costs so much.
I had upgraded from 0.13 to 0.14 along with redux and react-redux for fairly large project. I had expected i to be difficult, did ran into few issues but major ones were deprecation warnings. At the end it was far simpler then i assumed.
I don't why you are been down voted. Normal people would to download the s/w , install and run. As a developer sometimes i wish the same as well instead of hunting down dependencies.
If its the same architecture then you can copy the tar file to another system and run it. Its the same for Go apps except you get a binary.
I do not want to recreate all the structure( I basically do web apps). Phoenix provides good defaults. If it was few lines of code then Go is fine, for larger project i prefer Phoenix( prefer might not be the right word since i don't have elixir prod apps while i do have Go apps)
Using exrm its a very simple setup. You get a deployable tar file which gives you the ability to migrate up and down as well. The only issue i have is wrt to running migrations on deploy server.
Go is very good for services. But i didn't find any mature libraries like Phoenix.
"Use salt to taste, most likely it won't kill you" - but salt has been used for centuries right. Has there been a change? As an Indian not adding salt is unthinkable.
