« With three FCPCs inoperative, actual remaining runway distance (30 feet margin) of the occurrence flight was shorter than the calculated value (172 feet margin), possibly due to tailwinds, runway conditions, and manual braking as these factors might increase the braking distance. »
I get sucked into how all the little things that are not right make such a big difference in these kind of scenarios.
Off topic but I found this very interesting « The deceleration performance of the occurrence flight between 6,600 feet and 7,300 feet from the threshold of runway 10 deteriorated. It may be due to paint marking and rubber deposit on the touchdown zone of runway 28. »
First thing is work out to spin this properly - you're seeing this as a failure with hindsight, but why is it really like that? E.g: were the requirements firmly defined or were you trying to hit a moving target? Were you trying to appease too many owners? Were you lazy? Lack support? The most valuable thing you can provide is some objective context around why things are the way they are. Theres also different "software engineers". Maybe its the company type that you dns fit in well with? Rule number one: cut yourself some slack like you've probably given the other folk involved in the project.
I agree whole heartedly. I'd gone one further and add "become a regular". Get coffee/beer/food from the same place every day and consider enrolling in a language/art/something short course. It's amazing who you can meet over the course of a month or two - I met a bunch of interesting people including my wife.
I've got a patent on that - Lol. I actually cofounded a company that is in this space, Medication Adherence. Its a very curious field. Everyone says they really really care about it but its really hard to build a business around. Theres been a lot of different attempts at solving the problem but very few have gained any kind of real traction. This one is a bit like the Pillsy bottle https://www.pillsy.com, but theres plenty more of dosette like solutions (https://www.pilldrill.com) through to dispensers (https://www.lifeline.philips.com/business/medicationdispensi...). We went for a weight based solution but have largely shelved it to focus on other area.
"The Privacy Rule allows covered providers and health plans to disclose protected health information to these “business associates” if the providers or plans obtain satisfactory assurances that the business associate will use the information only for the purposes for which it was engaged by the covered entity, will safeguard the information from misuse, and will help the covered entity comply with some of the covered entity’s duties under the Privacy Rule."

As an aside, it is not just Deepmind/Google, all the players are trying to get all the EHR data around the world. The NHS is particularly attractive due to the volume of historical data of course. Its no secret IBM Watson is working with NHS Wales although I don't know what data sharing agreement is in place.

I wonder how software testing will change (if at all) in the industry post this revelation. There was an old joke during 777 development (Boeing’s first full fbw) about the difference between airbus and Boeing software testing architecture - airbus used formal techniques and Boeing put the software engineers on the first flight.
A pet peeve is people not sourcing corrections
For MSc in Computer Science I wrote my dissertation on sentiment analysis using NLTK for my NLP needs. Although my work was nothing earth shattering, I really enjoyed it and have continued it as a side project investigating different techniques and algorithms. I'm now considering ways that I can turn this interest into my full time career (I'm a .Net developer currently). I don't particularly wish to send out a lot of unsolicited resumes and so was wondering if anyone had some advice on who best to approach? Are there any recruiters and the like that specialize in NLP?
Thanks
