nuz··on Gemini 2.0: our new AI model for the agentic era
I guess this means we'll have an openai release soon
nuz··on Willow, Our Quantum Chip
Every time this comes up people say they're not actually useful for ML. Is that true? And if not what would they be useful for
nuz··on ChatGPT Pro
This kind of pricing strategy makes me think we're gonna have a pretty rough time once AGI arrives making any money. (I.e. no 'too cheap to meter' and basically all the rich getting richer.)
nuz··on How Baltic and Nordic countries are preparing for a crisis or war
"The Norwegian information also talks about how to survive for three days without power"

I mean canned food etc is useful but you wouldn't even die from starvation if you stood outside for that amount of time.

nuz··on Henry James and H.G. Wells (1958)
I get what you're doing but I don't find this a fair caricature of james' writing style
nuz··on Amazon to invest another $4B in Anthropic
Wouldn't be hard to code it to easily swap between GCP and AWS ahead of time knowing things like this could happen
nuz··on 3 years ago, VCs in Bay Area tech were thriving. Now, they're 'bleeding cash.'
can't flush down money into crypto without someone else grabbing it (maybe china, maybe europe, or just other parts of the US)
nuz··on Why I hate the index finger (1980)
Well this is from the 80s when writing was still quite respected and practiced
nuz··on Interview with gwern
I believe him.
nuz··on Visualizing 13M Bluesky users
Another argument is that it could lead to a bot problem 10x worse than twitters ever was.
nuz··on The Principles of Mr. Harrison's Time-Keeper
Also cool from the same site: https://incoherency.co.uk/blog/stories/diaphragm-piston-air-...
nuz··on ChatGPT now on chat.com
I kinda feel like the sort of kiki weird odd name of chatgpt helped it gain traction. People care way less about pleasurable brand names than marketing people think. Just 'chat' is way too generic etc (sounds like many unoriginal SF companies)
nuz··on ChatGPT Search
It's already happened in a subtle way via who got to partner with them to be displayed in results vs not.
nuz··on Once You Try a Four-Day Workweek, It's Hard to Go Back
Wait til you try a one day workweek
nuz··on ByteDance sacks intern for sabotaging AI project
One idea is that they're fake planted rumors. Certanily not the first time things like that happen
nuz··on An amateur historian has discovered a long-lost short story by Bram Stoker
Seems like a non pessimistic idea of something LLMs could help us out with. Mass analysis of old texts for new finds like this. If this one exists surely there are many more just a mass analysis away
nuz··on Reflections on Palantir
Since will come up, Thiels response to some of current geopolitical critiques of Palantir: https://youtu.be/bNewfkhhwMo?t=3755
nuz··on Diffusion for World Modeling
"What would be the point of creating a shooter set in the middle east? We already have pong and donkey kong"
nuz··on Proposal: JavaScript Structs
WasmGC is just garbage collection? Not browser APIs
nuz··on OpenAI pursues public benefit structure to fend off hostile takeovers
Not necessarily to fend off hostile takeovers, Anthropic adopted that structure too and it might be that they're just admitting that it's the right option
nuz··on Lunar Lake's iGPU: Debut of Intel's Xe2 Architecture
Nvidias moat is so enormous
nuz··on CERN trains AI models to revolutionize cancer treatment
Makes me think CERN has too much money
nuz··on Meta Movie Gen
Same was thought to happen about images but it hasn't. People quickly debunk AI generated content presented as real in replies or community notes. Not a real issue.
nuz··on Anthropic hires OpenAI co-founder Durk Kingma
It's exciting to wonder where Anthropic will be in like 5 years time with this incredible momentum
nuz··on Liquid Foundation Models: Our First Series of Generative AI Models
This is all getting kinda boring to keep up with.
nuz··on OpenAI is closing in on raising $6.5B. Largest VC raise in history
Way lower than the $100B I heard they were aiming for
nuz··on AI as an Information Interface
Yep, and I would have been really excited about this if it wasn't that they're hidden away behind an internet required api that can be taken away from you with rate limits.
nuz··on Llms.txt
LLMs are already nearly as smart as humans. Whatever needs to be known should be able to inferred from the documentation
nuz··on The Engineering of Landfills
My youtube recommends and HN feed are just merging these days with this and nilered being top the other day
nuz··on Making an atomic trampoline [video]
Think Carmack is faking it too? Some people just have that cadence
