Yeah, no sock puppet here. This is the link https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=39757978
nunocoracao··on Clarity on how posts are hidden or marked as dead
Those are good points. And the link is really useful will need time to digest it all.

My only counterargument is that the current model seems to suffer from the same problems already. For example, the post I mentioned was an essay I wrote on execution VS ideas, not promoting me, not promoting anything I am doing. Still, it's dead apparently. Just today I found multiple links to product web pages created by green users that were live. Doesn't seem 100% fair...

nunocoracao··on Clarity on how posts are hidden or marked as dead
Not really... the post I mentioned was not self-promotion was an essay I posted on my blog. The intent was to start a discussion around the topic, not self-promotion. As it stands I was not even aware the post was killed, let a lone the reason.
nunocoracao··on Execution Is King
As a Product Manager, more often than not, I notice people mixing up ideas and execution in discussions. Both these concepts have entirely unique levels of fidelity to what the finished product will be. It’s important for Product Managers to know the difference between these two concepts, how to manage them, and what importance they should have at different stages of the product development cycle. Not understanding the differences between an idea and an execution isn’t just a minor inconvenience; it’s a significant obstacle to innovation and strategic execution for products and companies.

100%… not using it to advocate for anything in particular. Just find the phenomenon interesting… you can apply this retroactively to several innovations.

Agree, the path might be quite bumpy but so could the endgame. Whether AGI wants to help or kill the human race will depend on how aligned it is to our goals. Now, since "our" goals will depend on whoever has the metaphysical ear of such AI this could be problematic.
nunocoracao··on Evolution of AI and Amara's Law
Amen. I wonder what "underestimating" something like AGI actually means though...
nunocoracao··on Evolution of AI and Amara's Law
Amara’s law aptly captures the dichotomy in our perception of technological advancements like AI. As we navigate the short-term challenges and excitement, it’s crucial to maintain a balanced perspective, acknowledging both the current limitations and the vast potential.

Just one year ago, I created Blowfish, a Hugo theme crafted to build my unique vision for my personal homepage. I also decided to make it an open-source project. Fast-forward to today, and Blowfish has transformed into a thriving open-source project with over 600 stars on GitHub and a user base of hundreds. In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to get started and have your website running in a couple of minutes.

In the fast-paced and competitive world of entrepreneurship, achieving product-market fit (PMF) is the holy grail. It is the moment when a product or service aligns perfectly with the needs and desires of the target market, leading to enthusiastic customer adoption and sustainable growth.

Most people consider strategy to be an event, some magical moment that changes the course of a company and defines its success for generations. The tale goes, some smart people get together (or occasionally one solo genius), they decide what they are going to do, and then they start implementing that strategy. That’s actually not the way the world works.

Technology has disrupted the music industry several times in history, changing the way we consume it, how it’s distributed and even how it’s made. In this article we’ll reflect about the good, the bad, and the ugly facts around NFTs in the music industry.

In the last few years, the hype around artificial intelligence has been increasing (again). Most of it due to truly groundbreaking research and innovative showcases in the field. From machines winning complex games like Go and Dota 2, to a variety of content generation techniques, these technologies will have an impact in our future.

On the 7th of September, Apple held its “Far Out” iPhone event. New iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods were announced, each coming with a plethora of features. Yes, all of it was innovation, but none of it brought the kind of excitement Apple used to. Why is that? And why probably this is the best strategy for Apple.
nunocoracao··on Ask HN: Feedback on my startup, skimic.com
Hello, first of all thanks for your feedback. We were working the whole day on improving the landing page to solve that problem and try to make it clear.

Going for a niche is definitely one of the options we are considering. Skimic is only 3 weeks old after 5 months in dev (by me only)... No excuse, but just to make it clear that it is still a work in progress.
