Epstein's most likely.
nssnsjsjsjs··on A Japanese glossary of chopsticks faux pas (2022)
Could be the Japanese version of getting a friend to "save them from the date" by calling to pretend it is an emergency.
nssnsjsjsjs··on A Japanese glossary of chopsticks faux pas (2022)
Couple of funeral related ones, couple of odd customs, and the rest are "imagine what an overbearing parent would say to their 6 yo using chopsticks"
nssnsjsjsjs··on France's aircraft carrier located in real time by Le Monde through fitness app
You could compare phone and watch coords assuming phone can be left in one spot.
nssnsjsjsjs··on Show HN: I made an email app inspired by Arc browser
Or even a video alternative for mobile would be good.

This guy disposable incomes
nssnsjsjsjs··on We rewrote our Rust WASM parser in TypeScript and it got faster
Rewrite bias. Yoy want to also rewrite the Rust one in Rust for comparison.
nssnsjsjsjs··on France's aircraft carrier located in real time by Le Monde through fitness app
101 assumptions programmers make about running apps.

23: The ground beneath the runner's feet has stable lat/lon.

nssnsjsjsjs··on Show HN: Code_puppy – a CLI vibe coder that I vibe coded using a vide coder

nssnsjsjsjs··on Germany eyes 10% digital tax on global tech groups
How do they know the revenue was booked in Germany?
nssnsjsjsjs··on Germany eyes 10% digital tax on global tech groups
10% tax on what? The ads? The services?
nssnsjsjsjs··on Buttplug MCP
It's the S in IoT plus the S in LLM and MCP. Lots of S!
nssnsjsjsjs··on RFK Jr's 'Maha' report found to contain citations to nonexistent studies
Maha is an Arabic name too.
nssnsjsjsjs··on First and Best Offers
I agree with this. Should be the standard. As should salary amounts on job ads.
nssnsjsjsjs··on Dr John C. Clark, a scientist who disarmed atomic bombs twice
They may be great warriors but bad diplomats
nssnsjsjsjs··on Ask HN: What's the best tool you've used for sprint planning in 2025?
Excel.
nssnsjsjsjs··on Dr John C. Clark, a scientist who disarmed atomic bombs twice
I was wondering what that imploding sub would feel like. Would you register it at all.
nssnsjsjsjs··on Dr John C. Clark, a scientist who disarmed atomic bombs twice
Yes those victorious warriors will find a way to split into 2+ warring factions.
nssnsjsjsjs··on Human coders are still better than LLMs
So LLMs have sweated to debug a production issue, got to the bottom of it, realised it is worth having more unit tests so values that and then produces a solution that has more unit tests. So when you ask the LLM to write code it is opinionated and always creates a test to go with it?
nssnsjsjsjs··on Human coders are still better than LLMs
I think by context they meant context as in common usage not context window size.
nssnsjsjsjs··on Human coders are still better than LLMs
That grass is not #00FF00 there. Cory's recent essay on uber for nurses (doctors are next) and law is only second to coding on tbe AI disruptors radar plus both law and medicine have unfriendly hours for the most part.

Happy to hate myself but earn OK money for OK hours.

nssnsjsjsjs··on Ask HN: Career Plateau: Looking for Advice on How to Break Through
Have you considered dev rel, or perhaps better platform or dev tooling teams at 1000+ engineer organisations?

Whether that us Google depends on if you want to work on their custom tooling or instead work on stacks that are transferable. I imagine the latter

These might require leetcode like entry but once you are in it can be good. However might be worth networking to see what team you'd want to be in first.

nssnsjsjsjs··on They used Xenon to climb Everest in days – is it the future of mountaineering?
Those mountain queues look sad. Like people queuing in the city for ramen. I'd rather go to a "boring" nature reserve but with no people there.
nssnsjsjsjs··on They used Xenon to climb Everest in days – is it the future of mountaineering?
In a hospital with an anaesthesiologist?
nssnsjsjsjs··on Show HN: Entropy – Sharing screen is scary in SaaS age
Nice line of defence! Ofc. people should avoid a situation where a secret on screen is worth something. Use MFA, VPN, key vault, JWT, OTP etc. etc.
nssnsjsjsjs··on Lossless video compression using Bloom filters
All you need to build a great app server is PG, certbot and a great app server.
nssnsjsjsjs··on Compiler Explorer and the promise of URLs that last forever
The collolary of URLs that last forever is we have both forever storage (costs money forever) and forever institutional care and memory.

Where URLs may last longer is where they are not used for the RL bit. But more like a UUID for namespacing. E.g. in XML, Java or Go.

nssnsjsjsjs··on What If We Had Bigger Brains? Imagining Minds Beyond Ours
We are smart enough to build the intelligence! Not just AI. We use computers to solve all kinds of physics and maths problems.
nssnsjsjsjs··on What If We Had Bigger Brains? Imagining Minds Beyond Ours
