Hi, I'm Ansel! I'm a full-stack developer with recent experience at a workforce management company, where I built scheduling and real-time communication tools to streamline shift coordination. I come from a background in project management and real estate development, which sparked my interest in data visualization and web development. My formal training is in quantitative finance and music technology.

Maybe someone with aviation industry knowledge can reply, but my guess is adding a trivial timed shutoff would have triggered an elaborate FAA approval and certification process. That’s probably where the savings were.
> Canada's current spat with Google over news is a recent example.
That was particularly hilarious.
The fear is of indirect censorship. As was the case with law enforcement/intelligence informally requesting take downs in the US, Canada will be making this process formal.
The attribution of all differences in America to political affiliation is a bizarre past time. So many missing confounding variables.
Are these that widespread that they are concerning? I thought they were mostly for lazy outdoors people.
I use newspaper with olive oil to start charcoal grills. Never had trouble starting a fireplace, wood stove or camp fire with anything other than tinder.
Fire starter tablets often contain hexamine which I don’t really want close to my food.

My experience in many cities that have adopted the Idaho stop (allowing cyclists to treat stop signs as yield signs), is that most cyclists are hilariously reckless and roll through at full speed. Watching streams of cyclists hold up confused drivers at 4-way stops is endlessly entertaining.
